In-person ceremony
GHS will honor all graduates at this ceremony, even if they do not attend. To ensure we can stay in constant contact with graduates and their families, please fill out this form:

Email and smore newsletters will be our primary method of communication. GHS will send more information in the first week of July.
Honor Cords
We use the Latin terms Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Summa Cum Laude to describe the academic honors of our graduates. The translations of each honorific, and the color cord that goes with it, are below.
Cum Laude: 3.25-3.499 GPA
With distinction. White cords.
Magna Cum Laude: 3.50-3.7499
With great distinction. Silver cords.
Summa Cum Laude: 3.75 and higher
With the highest distinction. Gold cords.
Parents of students graduating with one of these honors received an email with instructions on how to pick up their student's cords. The student may pick up the cords themselves, or the parent may pick them up. Curbside pickup is available in the front parking lot at GHS from 9-1 on Thursday. If that time does not work, contact Mr. Hodges to make alternate arrangements.

Diplomas
One of the most important parts our graduation ceremony is the presentation of diplomas. This is where each student's name is called, and they normally walk across the stage, shake hands, and receive their diploma from a member of the Board of Education. This year, we are asking parents to step in for us to present the diploma. Parents, when your student's name is called, congratulate them and present them with their diploma.
Diplomas belonging to students in our Early College program are retained until the Early College program is complete. Early College students will receive a certificate of completion. These certificates were delayed in production due to COVID-19 but should be available for pickup at GHS Thursday from 9-1. Any certificates not picked up will be delivered Thursday afternoon.
