The Comet Connection
A look into what's going on at Rosebud ES!
A Note from our Principal, Mrs. Holmes
Hi Rosebud Community,
I cannot express how proud I am of the work of the staff and students of Rosebud. We have had quite a busy school year as we continue to adjust to life post-pandemic.
Recently, I held a meeting with our local school council. We had a wonderful discussion regarding data and how to read the data. During that meeting, several parents asked if I could share the information with more parents and also show how parents can support the learning at home. They specifically requested information on iReady. To meet the request, I am hosting a virtual session on Thursday, March 16th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. That link will be on our website calendar in the coming days. We will review our data and discuss ways you can support at home. I appreciate the request because my goal is to make sure we have open communication so we can do what's best for students.
We also have several events coming up and I want to keep you posted. Take time to review the list of events in the newsletter.

Schoolwide STEM Projects
This year's STEM challenge will be for students to build a boat. The boat cannot be larger than 6 inches wide and 8 inches long. The boats cannot have motors. Students will need to make sail boats that will race against other boats. We will also test the capacity of the boats. Students will have to keep all of these requirements that in mind as they design their boats.
To enter the STEM contest, students will need to bring $3.00 and their permission slip. Permission slips went home in early January.
