100 Days Smarter!
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Monday, January 22nd. In honor of this special day... elementary students can dress up as a 100 year old person on Monday! They may even have some 100 year old teachers show up for school :)
New Lunch Program
You can visit their website here for more detailed information.
We look forward to this change and hope that you all are excited about it as well!
6 Flags Read to Succeed
We are excited to share that the elementary students will participate in the Six Flags Read to Succeed Program again this school year!
If you are not familiar with this program, students need to read a minimum of 6 hours, log their time and get parent and teacher approval. Teachers then log student's time in their accounts and students are awarded a one day pass to Six Flags. Teachers that have at least 8 students participate, also get a ticket.
Students brought their reading logs home before the break!
The due date back to teachers is Feb. 23rd.
Help Us Stay Healthy!
It is that time of year again...
Help our class stay healthy by please keeping your child home to rest up and get healthy if they are sick! Please remember we have a 24 hour fever free school policy. Make sure your child has been without a fever (without medication) for 24 hours before they return to school. We will continue to wash our hands and clean our classroom to stay healthy!
Write Score
We are excited to share that on February 5th, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a Write Score writing task that will be scored by an outside vendor. This writing task will allow students to follow the writing steps for an informational writing genre and get feedback from an outside educator. Students will complete the writing task with their language arts class on February 5th, from 8:00-10:00. Elementary students will complete the writing task via paper/pencil and upper grades will complete online.
Teachers have been preparing students for this writing task within the classroom and no additional preparation is needed. After the writing task is scored, teachers will receive feedback on each individual child that outlines strengths and areas of improvements. Teachers will then take this information to drive the instruction in their classroom and allow students to make corrections and revisions. We are excited to get this outside feedback to help provide guidance to our students.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask your child’s language arts teacher or reach out to the Curriculum Coordinator, Kandice Ivarie.

Home Visit Program
Home visits are a casual way for your child to spend time with his/her teacher in the comfort of their home. Teachers enjoy having a chance to see children in this comfortable environment, doing whatever makes them most happy and spend time with children and their parents outside of a regular school day.
Simply email junal@fultonscienceacademy.org with some suggested dates/times, as well as your students' name(s) and homeroom assignments. Ms. Unal will be in touch to confirm final details.
Please note: the best times to schedule a home visit are weekdays after 5:00pm.
