Jarrell Elementary Newsletter - February 6, 2023

A message from the Principal!
We are so excited to see everyone tomorrow! I do hope everyone is recovering from our week of ice days and that you found some time to spend with your family to rest and rejuvenate.
As we get back to our routines this week, please make a note of some rescheduled events. The most important are our Interim Assessments for our 3rd - 5th graders. Our Reading Assessment scheduled for Tuesday will occur as planned. The 5th grade Science Assessment was rescheduled to this Friday. Please encourage your child to do their very best on these assessments as they give us very valuable information about your child's progress this year.
If your family is still in need as a result of the storms or we can help support in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
We are looking forward to a fantastic week!

SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD Meeting this week!
We’re sending a friendly reminder about the special school board meeting this Wednesday night, Feb. 8th. Among the topics being discussed are the proposed school bond election and the new attendance zones.
Your voice matters. We want to get as much public input as possible.
The meeting starts at 6 pm at 508 N. 5th Street in Jarrell.

IMPORTANT Daily Deadlines!
7:30 a.m. The back doors automatically lock, and you will need to drive around and walk your child in to the building. PLEASE DO NOT DROP-OFF STUDENTS AFTER 7:30. They must be signed in by a parent or guardian.
1:30 p.m. ALL transportation changes must be made by 1:30 by emailing or calling Stephanie Garcia at (512)-746-2170 or stephanie.garcia@jarrellisd.org.

Attached you will find a "how to" to log into Classlink in English and Spanish. We have noticed that parents are having a hard time logging into online apps. Parents must go the Jarrell's Classlink or you might have issues logging in.
If you have any trouble at all, please give us a call. We are happy to help! Your child's classroom teacher can help as well as our Assistant Principals and Principal.

This week in Pre-k, in Language Arts, students will be learning about how to write a sentence with correct punctuation, reviewing letters Aa, Bb and Cc, and how rhyming words have the same rimes. In Math, the students will be able to understand that 1-9 is repeating patterns to 30. Lastly, in Science, we will be learning about gravity and how living things move and nonliving things do not move.
