Curriculum News:
Oral Language/Science. Let’s Find Out/Mi Weekly Reader! ¡Gracias árboles! Thanks trees! The children will learn about the living things in the environment related with trees and all the things that come from trees such as fruit, paper, some pencils and all the wonderful gifts trees give us. We are going to talk about the Earth Day and our planet’s features.
Also we will learn about the things we can create with blocks and with recyclable materials. Readings: “The Do-Nothing Machine” – “La máquina de no hacer nada”.
Math: We will be classifying, the different shapes and sizes of blocks and how we can create cities with straight, curve, big and small blocks.
Religion. On the Road to Emmaus. The children will learn about this Bible story when two of Jesus’ friends were walking along the road from Jerusalem to the village of Emmaus. Jesus caught up with them and walked along with them but they didn’t recognize him until He broke bread with them. Another lesson will be to remind children that Jesus cares for his friends. Jesus like a man, also experienced happy and sad times.
Estrellita Phonics: Review all letter sounds to begin the lesson. T,t, D,d, R,r, and C,c are the main focus this week in our PHONICS program ESTRELLITAS. This is a review. Children will be sorting real objects into the containers labeled with a particular letter sound. They are learning to name letters using sandpaper letter cards that they trace and then say the sound for each letter. Children will learn new words that begin with these consonant sounds. Children will be tracing and writing the letter forms and learning songs related to the letter sounds.
Have a wonderful week,
Blessings,
Sra. Raquel L., Sra. Farías and Sra. Laura P.
