Hawk Happenings: Jan. 3rd

Holy Rosary Regional School/Juan Diego Academy Community

Message from the Principal

Happy Wednesday!

It was fantastic to see everyone back after the Christmas vacation. Kids have so much joy and energy...it is contagious! It is an amazing testament to our school to see the students so happy when they return from a 2 week break! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break and wish everyone health and happiness in this new year. We have a few big items coming up in the next month or so:

  • The first is the State of the School, which will be held in the auditorium on Thursday, January 25th at 6:30 pm. It is a wonderful opportunity to see how things are going with everything from curriculum to finances this year, as well as future plans for Holy Rosary and the Juan Diego Academy program. Any family who attends will receive 2 volunteer hours. Please plan on attending!
  • The second item is that registration will open for current families on Monday, January 29th. The registration fee will be $150 per student with a maximum fee of $300 per family (for 2 or more students). Registration will be open only for current families between Jan 29th and Feb 25th. It opens to all students/families on Feb 26th. The registration fee increases to $200 per student and $400 per family on March 26th. The tuition rates for the 2018-19 school year are listed below.
  • The final major item is the annual Crab Feed and Auction. This is an OUTSTANDING event! If you have been to it, you already know that. If you haven't gone, you have to check it out. It will be held at the Connelly Center at Bellarmine Prep High School again this year. There is an amazing dinner of Crab and/or Prime Rib, as well as a silent and live auction and dancing. Tickets are $60 per person and can be purchased online at https://hrrsjda.ejoinme.org/crab2018. Buy your tickets today! We hope to see you there!

Have a great week!

Blessings,

Katie Dempsey

Principal

Sad News from our Community

Many of you know the Moss/Parker family (Tycarra and Tyrone). They were blessed with a little sister late this summer. Unfortunately, little TyShay Faith was born with many health problems and, in spite of a fierce battle, she succumbed to her health issues on Christmas Eve (surrounded by her family). She is now at peace with the Lord, but as is always the case, it is hardest on the ones left behind. Please pray for the Moss/Parker family: Carmetrus (Mom), Tyrone (Dad), Tycarra, and Tyrone. I have provided a link to the memory book in TyShay's honor, in case you would like to add a post. Also, if you would like to attend the services or send flowers, here is the information:

TyShay’s service will be on January 4th Thursday (tomorrow) at 1 pm. Viewing at noon.

Graveside service on Friday at 11 am

Trinity Presbyterian Church

Thank You!!

  • Mr. Setefano for providing our sound system for the Christmas program.
  • All who paid their auction procurements by the due date (Dec. 15) - reminder that anyone who didn't meet this obligation will be billed $150 on this month's statement.

Reminder: Dress Code

This is just a reminder that girls may wear tights, but not leggings as part of their uniform. Tights have feet attached and leggings do not. The girls are welcome to wear pants instead of a skirt/jumper, but it should not look like they are wearing both a skirt and pants (like they do when they wear leggings).

Also, boots are fine during this very cold and wet weather, as long as the students can run around in them. The boots should not have an elevated heel.

Please make sure your child has a coat every single day. It is so cold outside during recess, but the kids love to go out to play!

Tuition and Fees for 2018-19

REGISTRATION FEE

  • $150 (1 student), $300 (2+ Students) on/before March 25th

  • $200 (1 student), $400 (2+ Students) after March 26th

TUITION *DIVIDED IN 10 MONTHS (AUGUST – MAY)

PreK 3 & 4 Tuition = $7,000

KG through Grade 8

  • 1 Student = $6,050

  • 2 Students = $10,700

  • 3+ Students = $13,750

The tuition increase for next year is approximately $15 per student per month for grades K-8 and $20 per student per month for Pre-K 3 and 4. We definitely do our best to keep rates manageable, but all of our costs increase from year to year, so tuition has to increase a little, as well.
