KALLISON COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
March News
Whats Happening...
This past month our focus was spreading joy and kindness!
In guidance we discussed that although kindness seems easy, it's actually harder than it looks. It's not a question of kindness, it's a question of what gets in the way.
The 3 main reasons that keep us from being kind are:
Incompetence
Insecurity
and Inconvenience
Please continue to have talks with your children about kindness and know that kids repeat what they see. Model kindness daily and watch it spread! Ask your children what they've learned about kindness and challenge them to complete acts even in the busiest of times.
In addition to spreading kindness we also explored careers in preparation of our Career Day on March 8.

March Challange
We all have busy schedules! At times this can cause our families to feel disconnected. One simple thing that adults and children can do is give the person you are speaking to your full undivided attention. Putting your phones on silent or out of sight allows you to have conversations with those around you. If you are staring at your phone you are implying to others that you are not really listening or that they are not important.
