Glenside Fourth Grade Concert Celebrates Disney
On January 30, Glenside held its annual fourth grade concert and the theme was "Disney!" Glenside singers performed "Be Our Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast," and "Step In Time" from "Mary Poppins." The Glenside Vocal Ensemble performed "A Whole New World" From "Aladdin" and "Reflection" from "Mulan." The entire fourth grade performed "Almost There" from "Princess and the Frog," "You're Welcome" from "Moana," "Break This Down" from "Descendants 3," and "Under The Sea" from "The Little Mermaid." Performances also included vocal, gymnastics, drum and dance solos from the talented students.

Seven Panthers Named to National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad
In recognition of this past week's National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Cheltenham was proud to report juniors Megan Boyle, Molly Cohen, Emma Farrell, Natalie Martin, Jacqueline Messa, Celia Rittler and Riley Walker have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) High School National Academic Squad. Cohen, Martin, Messa and Rittler also achieved recognition as scholars of distinction for recording a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 through the first quarter of the 2019-20 school year. CBK Library Service Project
The library at Cedarbrook has been busy helping those who need it the most, collecting food and books and helping younger students transition to kindergarten. During January, the CBK community collected 500 canned goods for a local food pantry, added more than 1,000 books to its future lending library to combat book deserts and created 400 kindergarten welcome kits.

Calendar Reminders
Monthly early dismissals are generally the second Wednesday of the month. In February, the District has early dismissal on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Schools will dismiss at the following times:
- Cheltenham High School | 1:30 p.m.
- Cedarbrook Middle School | 2:10 p.m.
- Elkins Park School | 2:40 p.m.
- K – 4 Schools | 2:45 p.m.
- Schools will be closed on Friday, Feb. 14 for staff professional development.
- Schools and offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 17 in observance of Presidents Day.
- First day of the 2020-21 school year is Monday, Aug. 31.
- The final student day of the 2020-21 school year is Thursday, June 17.

Cheltenham School District families can now utilize their mobile phone’s text messaging (SMS) feature to receive district news and events, school closings updates and safety alerts. Families can opt-in by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587. Subscribers can opt out of these messages at any time by replying to a message with “Stop.”
