Punishments Children Faced!
The boss treated the kids and the adults cruel, and unusual. They didn't care about the children's saftey or health when they were working. The boys were drug out of their beds naked carrying their clothes when they were walking in the factories so they wouldnt be late to work. If they walked in late by a couple minuntes they would get in big trouble. An overseer would tie a heavy weight to the workers neck and force them to walk up and down the aisles. Boys and girls who worked were subject to beating and other harsh forms of pain inflictions. If the kids wern't old enough, they would make them be an assstiant to work in the textlie work.
Jobs Children Did in Factories!
They worked in Textile Mills. They did the jobs that nobody else wanted to do.The alsoworked in Milk Factories. They didn't complain if they got hurt because if they did they would of got fired. That means no money for the family.
Hours, Food, and Working Conditions!
The children would sometimes work up to 12 hours a day. The only break was 1 hour out of all the hours they worked. The working conditions was horrible. Little children lift heavy boxes, machines and so on around the factories. They ate old scraps that was left for them. They don't eat much because there is not enough food for each person that worked. They ate old cake, boiled bacon and nasty scraps.
Efforts to Improve/Stop Child Labor!
The Government stoped little kids under the age 9. The other children didn't work as much as others did. In 1833 the Factory Act passed to set the law. People protested to get the law passed so it would be equal to everybody in the factories. Workers stood up fot there self for better working conditions. Sometimes the workerd got fired for prostesting to the boss and telling him how they think, and how it wasn't equal.
Accidents that often Happened!
They would pick the littlest children to climb under the factory machines to fix what ever needs to be done. Sometimes they would't make it out in timeand their hair, fingers and arms would be chopped off or injured really bad. If they got home and sometime happened to their child, they wouldn't complain about it becasue they would get fired so they had to suffer the pain and continue working.
