For K—3rd Grade Teachers of Mathematics

8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
This will be the first 4 days of training and the 3 additional days during the school year will be decided during this training.
School teams of at least three teachers comprised of the following: Math Teachers of Kinder-garten, First, Second, Third Grade Classrooms or Elementary Special Education Teachers. For those districts beginning CGI, the Principal or Curriculum Coordinator should attend as a fourth team member.
Learning Goals:
Participants will:
Analyze story problems and number sentences to determine their mathematical demands and recognize students’ responses in terms of cognitive development
Assess students’ thinking and design problems that will develop students’ understanding of concepts and skills
Facilitate discussions that provide a window into children’s thinking, strengthen children’s ability to reason about arithmetic, and build their capacity for algebraic reasoning.
Lunch will be one hour, on your own.

Credit Options
