Hello Knight Parents,
I hope you are enjoying your summer and your kids are resting, relaxing and having fun! I am sharing this very early “Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year” letter with you so you are aware of important information regarding the upcoming school year, as well as some “Save the Date” items for you to mark on your calendars. So, here are Wolff’s Top Ten things for you to be aware of as we plan for the 2021-22 school year.
See you in August,
Lester Wolff, Principal
Lake Travis Middle School
#10 First Day of School/School Hours
Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 18.
School starts at 8:50 and ends at 4:10.
There is a 5 minute warning bell at 8:45 and students must be in their 1st period seats by 8:50 to avoid being counted tardy.
Doors open at 8:20 for students to enter the building.
#9 Entering/Exiting School
There are two drop off/pick up areas for students. Our bus students will enter/exit the building by the cafeteria entrance in the back of the school.
All car riders are dropped off in the front of the school each morning.
For dismissal at 4:10, our 8th grade car riders walk to the tennis courts to be picked up, while 6th and 7th grade car riders are picked up in front of the school.
We will share more detailed information and a traffic flow map prior to the start of school.
#8 Transportation Information
Bus routes, pick up times and locations can be found on the Transportation page of the district website under “Departments”. Click on the “Transfinder” link and put in your address for the bus stop nearest you. If you have questions, call Transportation at (512) 533-6070.
#7 Immunizations
It is required by Texas law that all students are current with their immunizations or have an up-to-date exemption on file with the school nurse.
All records must be on file by August 10 in order for your child to receive his/her schedule of classes.
#6 School Supply Lists
School supply lists for the three grade levels can be found using this link
School supplies can be ordered until July 14th using this link www.sproutsupplies.com/supplykits and enter LTMS001, the supplies will be delivered directly to the students home
Students should bring their school supplies on the first day of school; if possible, remove the supplies from the Sprouts box and have students carry them in their backpacks; supplies will be distributed/sorted as necessary in each grade level house
#5 Lunch Information
We offer 3 lunch periods at LTMS, labeled A, B, and C lunch
All 6th graders have A lunch, 7th/8th graders have B or C depending on their schedule (most 7th graders are in B/most 8th graders are in C)
Please see the Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) Dept on the LTISD website for information regarding putting money into your student’s account
#4 Athletics/Pre-Athletics/PE
Uniforms are required for PE/Pre-Athletics/Athletics classes
You may contact Coach Eilers in the fall if you have questions regarding PE/Athletics, uniforms, etc.
#3 Summer Reading Lists
#2 Back to School Activity………...Knight Games for 6th GRADE ONLY
Scheduled for Monday, August 16 from 8:30-11:30 am
Buses will be practicing their routes, so your child may ride the bus to school on the 16th to participate in Knight Games; please check our “Transfinder” link on the LTISD Website under “Departments” and “Transportation”. Parents may also drop off students in the front of school
This is a “student only”, fun event designed to ease anxiety about coming to middle school and get kids familiar with where to go in the building prior to the first day of school
All students will be dismissed at 11:30; car riders can be picked up in front of the school, bus riders will be dropped off at their pick up location
#1 Back to School Activity………...LTMS Round Up
Scheduled for Monday, August 16 from 4:00-7:00 pm
Students should download their schedule from Skyward to their phones (or write their schedule down on paper)
Parents are welcome to join their students as they “walk” their schedule, ie. go to your 1st period class, note the location, then walk to 2nd period. You will repeat this process until you’ve noted the location of all 7 classes
We will have LTISD staff/LTMS reps here for additional information as follows:
