This Week in 2nd Grade
October 14, 2018
Shalom! We had so much fun completing our Temple Jeremiah scavenger hunt this week! We had to work hard to find everything, especially Rabbi Cohen, but we did it! Be sure to ask your child to show you the shofars, menorahs, and ner tamid (eternal light) the next time you are at temple with them. Next week we can start playing Jeremiah Bingo with our scavenger hunt boards. After our hunt, we joined the 3rd graders to watch an animated creation video and then had music with Cantor Friedman. It was a fast and fun day!
MITZVAH MADNESS
Congratutions to the 12 students who completed our first Mitzvah Madness challenge! This week we challenged the second graders to:
DO A CHORE FOR SOMEONE WITHOUT BEING ASKED.
Good luck to everyone attempting the challenge! Parents, enjoy the extra help! ;)
TZEDAKAH
This month's tzedakah is being donated to Magen David Adom, Israel's Red Cross. Our 2nd graders have already raised over $45 to help others! The kids have been so proud to share the extra chores they've been doing to help those less fortunate! Please continue to help your child truly understand the mitzvah of tzedakah by having them earn their own money during the week to donate.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
This Friday, October 19, is the 2nd Grade Shabbat Dinner. Please RSVP to Nomi in the temple office ASAP if you have not already done so. Hope to see you there!
