At Simmons Elementary School, We're Better Together

Dream It, Design It!

A team of fifth graders from Simmons Elementary participated in a Montgomery County design event yesterday, alongside teams from 14 other schools. Students were challenged to design a collaborative and multipurpose outdoor learning space that promotes collaboration, flexibility, creativity, and multipurpose use. The design needed to fit into a 15' by 50' space and the team had to create a model to scale, as well as a presentation with a visual aid. The Simmons team designed a two story learning area with flexible seating and areas for science experiments. Mr. Moore, fifth grade teacher who accompanied the team, was impressed by the team's collaboration and creativity.

Flu Season - Here's how you can help!

Help us to prevent the spread of the flu this season by reminding your children to wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, cover coughs and sneezes, and not share food or drinks. If your child becomes ill, it's important to stay home from school and other activities to limit contact with others and recover. A yearly flu vaccine is always the best way to prevent the flu. Volunteer Information

Any adult who will be in the classrooms (for any reason) or for field trips are required to have a volunteer photo i.d. badge issued by the Hatboro-Horsham School District. The required clearances are free and any adult (including parents, grandparents and other family members) can complete the process. The volunteer credentials are good for five years. We appreciate the time and commitment that our volunteers offer to enhance our school! Here's the link to the district website which includes all the information about volunteer clearances:
