We have 15 days left of school and our calendar is packed full of fun activities!

This Wednesday, we are hosting "Muffins with Mom" (Or someone special) at 7 a.m. until 7:40 a.m. It required an RSVP to attend so they may purchase enough muffins and drinks.

Thursday night is the Spring Music Program for Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades. Miss Buckland sent out information to these grade levels. The program starts at 6, students should be in their classrooms by 5:45 p.m.

Our end of year benchmarking has begun! Teacher swill be in touch to notify you of your students academic growth for this school year as they complete this process.

Field Day for grades K-2 is on Wednesday, May 22nd in the afternoon. Field Day for grades 3-5 is on Thursday, May 23rd in the afternoon. Please make sure your child wears gym shoes and clothes for appropriate weather. Sending in a water bottle might be a good idea as well.

The student's final day of school is Friday, May 24th. Grade levels are planning fun activities for that day with the students. Report cards will go home with students on this day as well.

We will hold our final Gallery Walk on Tuesday, May 21st. Students are encouraged to bring in items or use school items that they are PROUD OF for their great accomplishments!!!! Please start talking with your children about the Gallery Walk and what they wish to share with their peers. Students will visit each other's classrooms throughout that school day. AGAIN, WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE ALL PARENTS AND FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO COME VISIT OUR GALLERY WALK FROM 3-4 P.M. ON TUESDAY, MAY 21ST. We look forward to seeing you then!

This picture above is our April Lunch Bunch for great attendance. These 10 students had their names drawn from the Attendance Box for a pizza lunch with administrators.

Please help us finish the school year strong! Push your children to be to school on time and every day, work hard, give effort and end the year satisfied with their goals met!!!!

Counseling Corner with Miss Headley:

A coping skill is a way that you handle overwhelming feelings, anger, stress, fear or any strong emotions you may have.

When faced with these overwhelming, stressful, or tense situations we can choose to use a positive or a negative coping skill. Student(s) have been learning the differences between these coping skills and how to handle strong emotions. Adversity is inevitable, however given the skills they may find these situations a little less stressful when using a positive coping skill. Here are a handful of the positive and negative coping skills we have been discussing. Please help us to continue the discussion at home to help your student choose a positive coping skill when dealing with overwhelming, stressful or tense situations.

Deep breathing

Taking a break

Talking it out with a friend/teacher/parents

Writing your feelings down on paper

Utilize a stress ball

Listening to music

Hitting others

Throwing objects

Running away from an adult

Kicking others

Saying mean things

Shutting down and refusing to speak

LOST AND FOUND - Is your child missing a clothing item or lunch box?

Please encourage your child to check the lost and found for missing items. After school gets out for the year, we will be donating any left over items.
