Brownie Bytes...

Saturday, November 16, 2013

Some of our "Projects" are coming to an end as of Monday's Meeting!

1) "Cards for Soldiers/Holiday-Mail-for-Heroes"--They will be mailed to the Red Cross, who will distribute them to the brave men & women who are often separated from their families in order to help protect our freedom. If your Brownie feels motivated, she is free to make more than 1 card for our final collection--the more the merrier! : )

2) Operation Christmas Child--Unsealed boxes are due and will be dropped off for shipment this coming week! If possible, please register your Brownie's box online so she can track it and then we can keep track of what countries all our "presents" are going to, to make kids in-need happy this Holiday Season!

3) Gift Cards for the Chmel Family--Sadly, Jason has been taken off chemo and put on Hospice this week due to the progression of his brain tumor. It will be a tough Holiday Season for this family! : ( Thank you for your generous donations to help reduce the financial burden this family is feeling as they go through this very tough season in their lives. We will give our "gifts" to the family after Monday's meeting.

Juliette Low's Birthday Tea

Nine Brownies and 5 Moms enjoyed Birthday Tea with the Girl Scout founder, Juliette Low, on Saturday, November 9th. The girls made crafts, learned GS activity songs, saw uniforms and a variety of GS trinkets dating back to the start of Girl Scouts. Then they enjoyed tea, cookies (Girl Scout of course! : ), and cupcakes with green frosting. The girls who attended earned their 'Girl Scout Way' Legacy Badge.

Our next event: Clay Creations!

Saturday, Dec. 7th, 2-4pm

the Community Conservatory

The girls will have the opportunity to earn their 'Potter' Badge while having fun with clay and making something they can keep forever! The Conservatory has a new location-- 4059 Skyron Drive, off of Cold Spring (just after Stony Road). The cost is $15./pp. Please bring your check, made payable to our Troop, to Monday's meeting. Moms are welcome to join in on the fun, too!!!
