Safety Reminder
Please also be sure you are not dropping or picking student up on Rolling Hills Boulevard unless you are down beyond both crosswalks (not near Turk Road). Dropping students off or picking them up disrupts the car line flow and poses a safety threat. Students must use crosswalks when crossing the streets.
Thank you for your attention to this.

Student Information Input for 2022-2023 School Year
We will soon begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. In putting together our roster of classes, we will take into consideration many factors including: girl/boy ratio, academic ability, behavioral characteristics, talents, personalities, needs, and learning styles. Our goal is to ensure that each child is in a class that has an appropriate balance of students with the proper teacher. We will assess each child using the data collected from the present classroom teacher(s) and the input of the student support counselor, reading specialist, and principal.
Class placement is made after reviewing considerable data. If you feel that we would benefit from additional information, please complete the Student Information Input Form by clicking here. You SHOULD NOT name a specific teacher. District staffing is not complete until the summer and teaching assignments may change. This form is designed to speak to your child’s area of strength and need, and not to a specific teacher preference. Please note: Requests for specific teachers will not be considered.
Much time and attention go into creating well-balanced class groupings that consider social, academic, and emotional needs of our students, as well as any input which is shared by parents on the Student Information Input Form. We ask all parents to respect the amount of hard work and thought that the principal, school counselor, reading specialist, classroom teachers, and special education teachers put into this process and not request changes to your child’s placement. Moving even one child from a class could upset the balance of a classroom and have an impact that extends far beyond your child.
We want what is best for your child and that involves them having a wide variety of educational experiences. For your convenience the Student Information Input Form is linked here again. You are not required to fill out this form. If you choose to fill out this form, it must be completed by Friday, April 29, 2022. Forms not submitted by the return date may not be able to be considered.
Please know we are working on our Move Up Day plans, as well. That will be communicated in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your cooperation in not requesting changes and for your understanding, trust, and support.
PSSA Update!
Next week begins our PSSA testing. The English Language Arts assessment will be on April 26, 27, and 29 (not April 28) from 9:15 to 11:15 AM for students in grades 3, 4, and 6 and from 9:45 to 11:45 AM for students in grade 5. The Mathematics assessment will be on May 3 and 4 from 9:15 to 11:15 AM for students in grades 3, 4, and 6 and from 9:45 to 11:45 AM for students in grade 5. The Science assessment is for 4th grade only and will be on May 9 from 9:15 to 11:45 AM. It is imperative that the students are here by 8:50 AM each testing day. If they are late and the testing window has begun, they will need to wait for the session to be over and they will need to make up the assessment at a later date.
Because the testing is fully online this year, all 3rd-6th grade students are encouraged to bring the following materials to school on testing days:
- fully charged laptop
- laptop charger (labeled with your child's name)
- independent reading book
- computer mouse (if interested)
- headphones (if interested)
Attached you will also see the electronic device policy for the assessment. Students should not bring cell phones, smart watches, or other electronic devices to school on the day of these assessments. If a student brings it, we will ask them to turn it off and place it in their backpack. If a student is found not abiding by these rules, this violation would need to be reported to the state department of education, the device would be taken by a staff member, a parent/guardian would be contacted, and there would be a consequence.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding PSSAs.
Sincerely,
Christina Adelberger

Sparks- Counselor Information
Below is a Sparks newsletter article we sent out almost two years ago. The topic is still very relevant. Please take the time to watch with your children for some interesting and needed discussion.
In today’s world we are all trying to know what is best for our children but it is difficult to see what lies ahead for them. The Sparks video below gives some economic insight into the past, present and future. Please share your reactions to this video with you children for their own understanding of future possibilities.

Attendance
Click here for PDF directions for how to input the absence, tardy, or early dismissal.
Click here for video directions for how to input the absence, tardy or early dismissal.
Requests made using the parent portal will also serve as the excuse for the absence. Parents will not be required to submit an excuse either electronic or written.
Parents and guardians can also still call the school to report an absence, but emails will no longer be accepted.
In addition, when a student is absent from school, but the school did not receive communication from the parent or guardian, the following communication will be sent:
- A text message will be sent midmorning notifying the parent or guardian of the absence
- An email will also be sent at the end of the school day reminding the parent or guardian that the student was marked absent.
Thank you for your attention to this.
District Information
New Student Registration
If you will have a new student (kindergarten, first grade) attending Central Bucks in the fall of 2022, now is the time to register. Enrollment for all new students (grades kindergarten through 12) is now ongoing. It is strongly recommended that you submit your application no later than June 1, 2022.
Registering students now ensures that buildings plan for appropriate staff and resources for the coming year. Visit www.cbsd.org/register to complete the process online. If your student is currently enrolled, it is not necessary to re-register them, this process is for new students only.
Visit www.cbsd.org/register for more details, including necessary documents to gather in order to register children. Please consider as soon as possible to aid the district in its planning for 2022-2023.
CBSD Technology when Traveling
Currently, the Technology and Innovation Department blocks Microsoft Office 365 logins to Outlook, OneDrive, ClassLink, and Canvas from foreign countries. This aids in protecting our CBSD user accounts and organization from malicious computer attacks from outside of the United States.
Students who travel cannot assume their devices will work once they leave the United States. For student out-of-country access requests, please know that access to technology for vacations will not be approved at this time.
Kutz Passive Fundraisers
Breakfast and Lunch Programs
In April 2021, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service extended the program that will provide for free meals for all students, regardless of income, for the 2021-22 school year. This has been made possible by nationwide waivers that provide for free meals for all students through June 2022.
All menus are available to be viewed online up to 2 weeks in advance by visiting www.cbsd.nutrislice.com.
Students are entitled to one complete reimbursable breakfast per day and one complete reimbursable lunch per day. Any second entrée will be charged to the students’ lunch account. We encourage all families to put money on their students account through MySchoolBucks.com as there will be no cash transactions this year in an effort to serve the students as safely and swiftly as possible.
