Athey Notes
Week 14
Welcome to Week 14!
Dear Athey Community,
Welcome back from what we hope was a fun and relaxing break! Even though winter break will be here before you know it, we aren't slowing down. We are busy this week with finishing up the 6th grade Connect 4 Tournament Championship, continuing Mission Possible! Turkey Trot , rehearsals are underway for Athey Idol (with a very special act planned for the end, you won't want to miss it), orchestra is getting ready for their big concert and all of our clubs are in full swing.
As we see snow appear and disappear in the forecast, now is a great time to make sure you are signed up for our Flash Alert System to hear about snow routes, delays and cancellations. You can sign up for Flash Alerts to stay up to date.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Joel Sebastian

Outdoor School - Save the Date
The West Linn-Wilsonville School District collaborates with the Multnomah Education Service District to provide an Outdoor School experience for our sixth grade students. We are so excited to be able to offer a traditional overnight outdoor school experience this year. Please save the dates of May 30th - June 2nd so your students can participate in this opportunity.
Much more information to come in late winter/early spring.
Student Health Survey
Our 6th and 8th grade students will be participating in the Oregon Student Health Survey on Tuesday, December 13th. The Student Health Survey (SHS) is a collaborative effort between the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Education to improve the health and well-being of all Oregon students to help them succeed. Good health is an essential educational tool. Research shows that healthy students have better attendance, get higher grades and test scores and are less likely to skip school, drop out or engage in risky behaviors. The Student Health Survey is the only source of statewide data that gives a snapshot of how students are doing physically, emotionally and socially.

West Linn-Wilsonville COVID-19 Reminders
WLWV continues to support the health and safety of our students and staff. All students and staff members are expected to monitor for signs and symptoms of illness. As we move through this pandemic, community support has grown and access to COVID-19 tests are more readily available in the community. A school may send a student home with an at-home test in certain situations, but onsite testing is not available.
If you are seeking more regular testing, Oregon Health Authority does support a staff screening program (linked here). Students and staff are required to isolate at home in the event they test positive for COVID-19 or if they are exhibiting 2 or more COVID-19 symptoms. Please use this screening tool to determine whether or not you or your student should come to school.
