Summer Resources and Passport to Success
FACE Will Continue to Provide Resources During the Summer!
In the last few months, FACE has been with you providing resources through our FACE staff and Community Resource Line. During these unprecedented times, our goal is to continue to link you to agencies that can provide food, housing, and other essential services. Our staff and the Community Resource line will continue to operate during the summer months. Please see flyers below for FACE staff contact information as well as information for the FACE Resource line.
FACE is Launching Passport to Success (Workshops for Learning at Home)!
Our motto is better together! We believe that when SAUSD staff and families come together to support our students, there is a greater impact to everybody's lives. As part of our reflection about how we can continue to improve the practice of family and community engagement, we decided to provide families virtual spaces where we can all discuss how to support student's learning at home. Our virtual platforms will offer opportunities to learn about and discuss family wellness, digital success, family learning at home, and family activities. We invite you to join our Passport to Success workshops. #sausdbettertogether
Message for you!
Families, as the year concludes we commend you for all you have done to ensure your students have continued learning at home. You were the student's first teachers you taught them to walk, to speak, to eat, to say their abc's & 123's and we knew you would rise to the challenge of distance learning. We know it has been very difficult being at home while working, teaching, cleaning, cooking, and doing many other errands. We also know that you have the key to overcoming obstacles, resilience. Resilience has allowed you to overcome the difficulties of the last month and come back as strong as or stronger than before. Rather than allowing the difficulties of our times to define you and your families, you have used creativity and ingenuity to redefine your current situation. Resilience has enabled you to move forward and will continue to help you overcome difficult situations.
To continue being resilient and the rock for your families engage in self-care during the summer. Establishing health habits such as getting enough sleep, eating well, and being physically active can reduce stress and increase resilience. Nurturing close friendships can help you in finding support when there are difficulties. Lastly, focusing on your family values and living by these values can also build resilience.
Sincerely,
Elisa Briseno
