Book Closets Successfully Organized
Hours of Counting, Sorting and Stacking Bring about Order
Inventory... A Necessary Evil
"I have tons of free time in my day to stand in the musty smelling science closet counting, stacking, moving, sorting and organizing books and curriculum materials," said no teacher ever. Taking inventory of your resources is a necessary part of curriculum and lesson planning, but who has time (or let's face it, willingness) to do it? So I chose this mammoth project as part of the nuts and bolts of my practicum. I spent five hours on a rainy Saturday with my three darling young men, all of them armed with flashlights, since I am not worthy of the hallway light key. All in all, it was a successful venture.
