Fifth Grade Science Online Tools Training
With the Science test for 5th Grade going online, there will be tools that students will need to use that they may not currently be familiar with. This link will take you to a login screen, where a login and password is provided to you on the screen. The first few slides include directions and explanations for the various tools and icons that students will encounter on the test. Then there are practice questions where students will see the types of questions they might have on the test and have the opportunity to use the tools they will see on the assessment. This is a great opportunity to walk students through these things. For access, go to:
https://wbte.drcedirect.com/MO/portals/mo
This needs to be on a Chrome browser to work and is only until the INSIGHT desktop/device icons are installed on all computers that will be used for testing. The tests for grade 5 and 8 are almost identical, but they will give your students (and the teacher) some background on what the test format will look like. There are tools that are used in the training, such as the need to graph and measure with a ruler, plus there is a drag and drop and fill in the blank questions.
DESE will also be providing videos that can be played to explain how to navigate in the online test. MAP ELA and Math practice will become available in early February.
