Swift - Slaybaugh Complex

Principal's Message
Our staff and students had another busy week filled with accomplishments and fun. Our third-grade students finished up their NJSLA testing. We are proud of them for staying focused and making it through a tough task. On Friday, May 13th, our "Slaybaugh Singers," our third-grade choir, joined the other elementary schools in the district at the Davenport Complex. The students performed and even had the chance to work with the choir directors from the district's middle schools.
Also on Friday, our kindergarten students took their field trip to Storybook Land. This was the first time that most of these students had ever been on a school field trip and the excitement could be felt all week leading up to their big day. Many students met up with their families at the park and enjoyed going on rides with their classmates/friends. This coming week our district will be holding the first session of "Strategic Planning" at EHT High School at 7pm. This is a great way for community members and stakeholders to ensure that their voices are heard as the district works to plan their next steps. I hope you all have a great weekend. It looks like the rain should finally be gone on Sunday, so I hope you get to enjoy some time outside and we'll see the students back on Monday.
Sincerely,
Joe Marinelli

Students Celebrate Nurses' Day
The students in Mrs. Swigert and Mrs. Aleverson's class celebrated Nurse Ginger for School Nurses' Day. She received a bouquet of flowers and other fun goodies. Each student made a flower with the reason that makes her special to them. Happy School Nurses' Day to all of our school nurses!

We are excited to kick off our "Little Eagles Fun Run" program on June 1st. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for student achievement and activities & staff enrichment. This will help strengthen our school community. To make our fundraising more profitable and fun, we have partnered with Boosterthon! Boosterthon is a 2-week fundraising campaign that promotes fitness, teamwork, and character while helping our school raise much needed funds! The program will begin with a kickoff video on June 1st and end with an epic Fun Run experience on June 10th!
All students will run 35 minutes and get pledges for each lap they run (Ex: $1 per minute = $35) or they can get flat donation pledges as well. As they get pledges, they have the opportunity to earn fun prizes too. Between kickoff and Fun Run, students will learn about character, be issued nightly challenges, and get pledges from friends and family to help their school!
We completely understand if your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now. You can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at MYBOOSTER.COM. Sharing IS supporting! Just as we worked to safely begin school this year, we are also safely hosting this essential fundraiser based on our school’s current guidelines. We’ll send more details, as we get closer to our kick off.
