Important message from Deputy Superintendent Leon
Please read the letter from Deputy Superintendent Brinda Leon sent on Friday (1/7/2022) that contains updated information regarding the state COVID-19 at-home test kits, as well as pop-up COVID-19 testing provided by the District.
Testing information summary:
Free COVID-19 Testing Resources:
Falcon Student Rapid Test Kit Distribution:
● State Test Kits: Free at-home rapid (same day) antigen test kits provided by the state for students have started to arrive in Orange County. The state allocated one test kit per student. We will distribute the student test kits on Thursday and Friday from 2:45-3:30 and from 11:45-12:15 for TK and Kinder students. Remember, these kits are for students only. Each student will get one kit that contains two tests. This is the final allocation of these kits. We will be checking off student names as we distribute. If you have students in multiple school sites, you will have to make multiple trips as we will not be distributing kits to siblings at different schools.
● BOUSD Test Kits: The free PCR test kits (saliva or nasal- mail in - up to 3 days for results) that BOUSD has provided, beginning with the holiday break, remain available at all BOUSD school sites for students and staff. However, due to high demand for testing, some school sites may not always have these test kits available. BOUSD is working with the County to provide additional kits to our schools as soon as possible, as part of our ongoing access to testing for students and staff. These mail in test kits are also available at the testing site at BOHS on Wednesdays from 12:30-5:00.
