Ask your child to tell you about our duck eggs hatching!
Reading In Action
Read with your child. Ask....
Does this story remind you of another story?
What connections did you make?
As Writers we can write narrative stories, how-to books and persuasive letters.
As Readers we can retell stories from beginning to end including important key details.
We can state details in the non-fiction stories we read.
We can create rhyming words with words we find in the story.
As mathematicians we can create, write and solve subtraction equations.
As Ornithologists, we can state the life cycle of a duck and tell how to care for new ducklings.
Happy Birthday, Savannah!
Touring First Grade
We are so excited about First Grade next year!! We visited Miss Walker's class to see all about First Grade!
Thank you, Mimi!
Josie's grandmother volunteered each week in our class! Mimi helped our students with reading and writing! We are so grateful for her time with us.
"Shopping" for New Books
These students are graduating from high school this year! Seven years ago they "graduated" from DFES as 5th graders. Congratulations!
We welcome all of our kindergarten friends and families to send in pictures of family fun. We will have your child share his/her pictures with our classmates on the SmartBoard. Sometimes, we might include the pictures in our weekly Smore newsletter.
