As the founder and creative director of handmakery, Ami Maes focuses on the passions that inspire her most: children and art. Ami holds a Bachelor of Science in Arts Education K-12. She enjoys cultivating an environment for students to be challenged, get messy, have some fun, and learn to express themselves. Ami’s seventeen years of experience includes teaching for Anderson Ranch, the Aspen Art Museum, the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, the Wyly Community Art Center, and as art instructor for the Roaring Fork School District. She is the recipient of the Mary Ellen Nix Art Educator of the Year Award through the Aspen Art Museum.
