A Peek At The Week
We are wrapping up Topic 3 and starting Topic 5 this week! This book was written with the Common Core Standards in mind, and those don't line up perfectly with our Oklahoma Standards. So a few things will seem out of order. No worries! We will come back to these Topics after state testing.
M - Topic 3 Test
Tu -STAR Benchmark 2
W - WORK DAY - STAR makeups & last call for missing work
Th - 5-1 Use Patterns and Mental Math to Divide
F - Parent Teacher Conferences (NO SCHOOL)
Ways to Help @ Home
Please be reading with your student nightly! If reading is hard, the only way to get better is to practice. Start with things like online restaurant menus. You may even consider turning on Closed Captions or Subtitles for their streaming services!
For extra math help, consider playing card games where you have to add or multiply cards together!

Reminders
Please make sure that your student is completing 30 minutes of math IXL and 30 minutes of reading IXL. This is a requirement set in place by the district. There is time built into our schedule at school, and it is easy to do at home!
It is incredibly important that your student complete work in a timely manner. In 5th grade we are doing something "new" or the next step of something nearly every day!
Cell phones are to be powered OFF and in students' backpacks. They are not to be on their person.
Students need to bring their supplies to school every day! If there is ever a day where supplies will not be used, we will alert parents in plenty of time. 😁
