Labeling: Thank you for labeling your child's waterbottle and lunch box with name and room number... it helps us get it back to the right location. Need to see the lost and found? Come to the front office before or after school!
COVID Updates:
New Decision Tree available- See below
Water Fountains will be turned back on this week!
Computers: Most all village students received their computers this past week. 1st and 2nd graders also received their computers last week, yet proved to be quite heavy for their bodies to carry while biking, scootering or walking to school. Individual teachers are working to create a plan for their students/families. Be on the lookout for information regarding your classroom computer procedures regarding bringing them back and forth each day vs. keeping them at school, etc.
**Purchase an OPTIONAL Mobile Device Protection Plan for just $20 a year
Arrival and Dissmissal:
This week we made some tweeks and are excited to see the routines run more smoothly.
1. Please be kind and a role model for your student and the students around you. We as a staff will make the same committment.
2. Please stay back and allow our teachers to get to their spots for dismissal. The crowding has created safety issues and congestion. If cones are out, those are "student and teacher only zones". Please respect those boundaries for student safety.
3. Dogs. We love our dogs, know they need exercise, but we also need to keep the safety of our children at the forefront of our minds, when arriving to and dismissing from school. This past week, there was an incident with two dogs, and it caused alarm for many to see the safety concerns that arose from having dogs present in front of campus, with all of the crowds. We ask that you keep your dogs at home when picking your children up. If you must bring them with you, please keep your dogs clear from gates, stand considerably back from other students and families.

NEW CUSD Absence Reporting System for COVID Related Absences
NEW CUSD Absence Reporting System for COVID Related Absences
September 3, 2021
Dear CUSD Parent/Guardian:
Please save this letter - you will likely refer to it throughout this school year.
To streamline communications and assist in our efforts to keep all of our students healthy and on campus as much as possible, we request that families utilize our NEW Student Absence reporting form each time your student is absent (due to illness) by following the appropriate link for your student’s school. We ask that you complete this form as soon as possible to provide our teams ample time to support your student’s needs. Absences not related to illness should be reported via pre-COVID protocols (phone/email/paper absence notes).

Testing Overview
CUSD led a Statewide pilot program to provide on-site testing for COVID19. In certain instances, your student may be able to return to campus sooner by presenting a negative COVID test, as determined by the published COVID19 Decision Tree.
Your student may test at the COVID Command Center at the high school or any testing site and then provide their results via email to COVIDteam@coronadousd.net.
Parents are encouraged to register their student for CUSD’s onsite testing program by accessing the following link: https://www.primarybio.com/r/coronado
Moreover, the current COVID decision tree provides additional flexibility (modified quarantines) for individuals who are fully vaccinated for COVID19. Please complete this optional form (for parents of students 12 and up, mainly at CHM and CHS) to verify your student’s vaccination status. https://bit.ly/3jBGytn
Concurrent Curriculum Delivery
CUSD prioritizes the continuity of your student’s learning. As a result, CUSD in collaboration with our teachers, have agreed to provide Concurrent Curriculum Delivery to students if they are directed to quarantine or isolate. This means that, while they may not be present physically in classrooms, they will be able to ZOOM into their classrooms to continue their learning until they are able to return safely in-person. This program is only available to students directed not to attend in person by the COVID Command Center. Please look for additional communication from your student’s teacher(s) on how to access CCD. This is a unique program that is not offered at most school districts - CUSD is proud to support your student’s continuity of learning and we appreciate your collaboration to support Every Child, Every Day.
NEW Decision Tree Released September 2nd, 2021: Please see below
CUSD COVID Protocols:
COVID protocols:
- Everyone must wear a mask while indoors (regardless of vaccination status).
- Students will sanitize their hands as they enter and exit each classroom.
- Masks are optional outdoors for all in K-12 school settings, but strongly encouraged when gathering in large groups or when physical distancing is not possible.
COVID19 Updates and Safe Reopening Information from Superintendent Mueller: Our collective focus and responsibility is safely returning our students and staff, in person, to campus five days a week. The State and County Department of Public Health direct public policy on public health guidelines and we will comply with and enforce their guidance. State and CDPH directives have been issued, challenged and changed a number of times through out the pandemic and we anticipate this pattern will continue. CUSD will follow current mandated guidelines to support our focus on keeping all grade levels and staff safe and on campus in full day schedules.
In an effort to keep our community informed, we have created the following “user-friendly” summary to provide updates regarding the latest information on frequently changing guidance on public health protocols. Please take time to acquaint yourself with this important document. If you have questions or need additional information about this plan, please contact the COVID Response Team at COVIDtest@coronadousd.net.
