Max Walser Scholarship
This scholarship is a for student who plans to enter the field of education. It is a $500 award.

Davidson County Education Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is for seniors entering any two or four year program who demonstrates financial need. Selection will be based upon depth of character, acdemic potential, school/community service, and financial need.The scholarship will be for $1000.

Wayne H. Shoaf/ Home Trust Bank Scholarship
This scholarship is Davidson County students who are entering the field of business. This scholarship was established to assist a deserving senior who is in need of financial assistance and plans to enter a two or four year degree program pursuing a career in business. This scholarship is worth $1000.

Don L. Palmer Scholarship
This scholarship is for North Davidson Students only who are planning to enter the filed of education and/or coaching students. This scholarship was established to honor Mr. Palmer who served a coach, teacher, assistant principal, principal, and central coordinator and director for Davidson County Schools. He also served on the DAvidson County Board of Education as vice-chairman and chairman. The scholarship is valued at $1000.

Clate F. Huffman
This scholarship is for seniors in the Davidson County School System with career goasl in teaching. This scholarship was established to assist a deserving senior in need of financial assistance and plans to enter a four-year degree program and is valued at $600.

Mike Lambros Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor the memory of the late Mike Lambros, softball coach at North Davidson High School. Students must have at least a 3.5 GPA, have participated in Varsity Sports for at least one year, have community and extracurricular involvement, exhibit leadership, sportsmanship, a postiive attitude, perseverance, self-motivation, and a determination to succeed. This scholarship is valued at $1000.

Rebecca Hartman Scholarship
This scholarhsip was established to assist a deserving senior at North Davidson High School who need financial assistance and plans to enter a four year degree program pursing a career as a public school teacher. This scholarship is valued at $1000.

Thad Hartley Scholarship
This scholarship was established to assist a deserving senior in the Davidson County School System who is in need of financial assistance and who plans to enter a four year degree program pursuing a career in the field business or business education. This scholarship is valued at $1000.

Randall Hill, Jr. Scholarship
The Randall Hill, Jr. Scholarship has been establisehd to assist a deserving senior at North Davidson High School or Thomasville High School who plans to enter an accredited program at either a community college or four year college pursuing a degree in the field of horticulture or vocational technology. Horticulture will be the preferred field of endeavor, however applicants for a vocational field will also be considered. This scholarship will be for $500.

Denny Fordham Memorial Music Scholarship
This scholarship is for seniors at North Davidson High School with career goals in music education or music ministry. The Denny Fordham scholarship was established to assist a deserving senior who plans to enter a four year school in one of these areas. This scholarship is valued at $1000.

Jamie Berrier Crutchfield Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Ledford or North Davidson senior desiring to further their education. It was established in memory of Jamie Berrier Crutchfield by her family. She was a daughter, sister, wife, and new mother when she was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma at the age of 25. Jamie fought hard to win her battle, but passed away in November 2011 at the age of 27. She was a wonderful hairdresser and loved what she did. This scholarship is valued at $1000.

E. Lawson Brown Scholarship
This scholarship is for seniors within the Davidson County Public School System with career goals in teaching and plans on attending a four year school.

Scholarships Included in Prior Newsletter
2024 Matthew C. Graziadei Achievement Scholarship Award
RebeThis award includes a $1,500 scholarship, to be used for any post high school learning experience/training or for equipment/technology needed for employment. ELIGIBILITY: ALL North Carolina students with disabilities are eligible for nomination. Including students enrolled in the Occupation Course of Study, students who will be receiving a Graduate Certificate and students enrolled in the Future Ready Course of Study.

Community Impact Scholarship
Award: $2500
Requirements: Demonstrate active involvement in community service and exhibit strong leadership qualities; Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher
Deadline: February 13, 2024
DC Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association Educational Scholarship
This scholarship is for a student who plans on seeking a degree preferably in horticulture or related plant/agricultural science. The award is $1,000. Eligible students must have a demonstrated unweighted GPA of 2. 50 or above. Volunteer experience will be considered.

The Golden Leaf Scholarship
The Golden LEAF Scholarship is designed to assist current North Carolina high school seniors and North Carolina community college transfer students. Recipients must be from certain rural counties, plan to attend a participating North Carolina college or university, demonstrate financial need, and express an intent to return to a rural North Carolina community upon college graduation. The scholarship is funded by the Golden LEAF Foundation through a grant to the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority.
Award: Up to $14,000
Requirements: Be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes and reside in a qualifying rural North Carolina County as identified by the Golden LEAF Foundation (Davidson County is qualifying) and complete the NC Residency Determination. Be a graduating North Carolina high school senior or a currently enrolled North Carolina community college transfer student enrolling full-time (degree seeking) in the fall at a participating North Carolina public or private college/university. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that does not exceed the maximum permitted by Golden LEAF and express an intent to return to a rural North Carolina community upon college graduation.

R. Flake Shaw Scholarship
This scholarship is for students prusing higher education in an agricultural-related discipline. The award amount varies dependent upon if the student is attending a 4 year of 2 year school.

Wilma L. McCurdy Memorial Fund
Award funds will vary for this scholarsip. Applicants should be a worthy students who are permanent residents of Anson, Cabarrus, Davidson, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, and Union County, North Carolina. Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Demonstrate financial need. Be planning to attend full-time Mars Hill University, Gardner-Webb University, Wingate University, Meredith College, Wake Forest University, Campbell University, or Chowan University.
Deadline: March 14, 2024

NC Association of School Resource Officers Scholarship Guidelines
Purpose: This scholarship fund was established by the Board of Directors of the North Carolina
Association of School Resource Officers (NCASRO) in 2018. Eligible candidates must be high
school seniors on track to graduate, who are entering an accredited two or four-year college or
university. Strong consideration will be given to financial need, but scholastic standing will also
be very important along with participation in extra-curricular activities, personal reputation and
moral integrity within the standards of NCASRO. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

NC State Employees Credit Union People Helping People Scholarship
Purpose: The SECU People Helping People Scholarship is valued at $10,000 and awarded over a maximum of eightco nsecutive semesters to pay for tuition and fees. This scholarship is only available to graduating public high school seniors who are either current members of SECU or the child of a parent/guardian who is a member of SECU. Students must have a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or
higher, plan on attending one of the 16 UNC System universities, demonstrate leadership, excellence of
character, integrity, and community involvement.

NC Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship
Applicants must be a graduating senior from a high school in NC pursuing a degree in education. Applicants must have a GPA between a 2.5 and 3.5 and a SAT Score between 900 and 1050. THe committee will judge the applicant based on their service to school , community and church, as well as their integrity and leadership potential.
Deadline: March 15, 2024
Edgar and Lois Reich Educational Foundation Scholarship
Applicants must be high school seniors, current college students or graduate students. Have been born and reside in Forsyth County or Davidson County, North Carolina and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the field of Education or Dental Science. Applicants should demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, involvement in civic and social activities. Applicants should be planning to attend a four year college or university and have an unweighted GPA between a 2.0 and 4.0

Davidson County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Davidson County Farm Bureau has a college scholarship. The amount of the scholarship is up to
$1000 per student, subject to the Board of Directors discretion. This schoarship provides assistance for Davidson County students seeking higher education in an agricultural related field. This would include four-year Universities, Technical Schools, and Community Colleges. Student must have at least a "B" average.
Deadline: March 31, 2024

Energy United - Empowering the Future
$5,000 Scholarship in which students must reside in a home or school that is serviced by Energy United and students must plan to attend a college, university or technical school during the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
Deadline: March 31, 2023
Davidson County Association of of Educational Office Professionals
Purpose: This is a $300 Scholarship provided to a Senor planning on attending a post secondary education and demonstrates financial need. This student will have to complete the application, write a one page essay and provide 3 references.
