- Please arrive no later than 9:15 AM!
- You can now login to Aeries now to see schedules! Students will also receive schedules at school. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

- The bus is a great way to get to school! 8 different bus routes run to Montera and you can find the service schedules HERE:
- DO NOT drop students off in the front of school (on Ascot). All student drop off and pick up is at the back lot on Scout.
- DO NOT use the parking lot at Joaquin Miller before or after school.
- Please drive carefully
- Bring two combination locks (one for PE locker, one for school locker). We recommend locks with the same combination LIKE THIS.

Morning Hike & Morning Stretch in the Redwoods (Adults Only)
Date: Sunday, August 28th
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Place: Skyline Gate parking lot

Join us for a fun morning hike & yoga stretch in the Oakland Redwoods! We'll meet at the Skyline Gate parking lot at 10:00 AM for a 3-4 mile loop hike through the Redwoods and Stream trails. We can walk and talk and we'll finish with an optional 25-minute restorative yoga flow stretch. It's social hike in the redwoods, and a gentle yoga stretch, followed by a healthy picnic brunch!

Wine & Design Paint Party
Time: 7:00-9:00 PM

What’s better than toasting to a good time with friends? To us, not much. Wine & Design is a fun way to create memories and masterpieces. Make new friends in the Toro community, support Montera PTO and enjoy a glass of wine during this two-hour class. No creativity or experience required! We’ll provide the canvases and paintbrushes as a local artist guides you through the evening, stroke-by-stroke. (INDOOR EVENT) Adults only. Vaccinated guests only.

Montera After School Program
Envisioneers’ Expanded Learning Program
Envisioners’ mission and vision align with Montera, where scholars will thrive academically and socially from a rigorous and balanced education, and a nurturing, inclusive environment. Their primary focus will be to expand the learning opportunities of our scholars, meaning they are not only supporting scholars after school but throughout the school day as well. Envisioners’ will provide teaching fellows during the school day to support scholars in the classroom and then extend into the after-school portion of the day.

Afterschool Clubs
Art with Mr. Bell
This course is an in-depth exploration into the Elements and Principles of Art, Diversity in Art, and Art Critique. Students will create original artwork through painting, drawing, pastels, sculpture, mixed media, and photography. They will learn how to put together an art show and develop an art portfolio. As student skills increase over time, the projects will become more challenging.
ART: Tuesday 3:40-5:30 PM Room 402 $285 per student. Sibling is $200.00. Class dates: 8/30-12/13. Class minimum 8. Class maximum 15.
Jazz Band with Mr. Worrall
The Jazz Band is open to Montera instrumentalists (brass, woodwinds, drums, piano, bass, and guitar) that have a year of playing experience and are willing to dedicate extra time to perform in Jazz Band. Students will develop their ensemble playing, improvisation, and performance experience by participating in events throughout the year such as a Winter and Spring concert. Students should prepare a short piece of music of their choice in any style for a brief audition on Tuesday, August 30th. Students will sign up for a time slot posted on Mr. Worrall's door.
JAZZ BAND: Tues/Thurs 3:45-4:45 PM Room 101 $285 per student. Sibling is $200.00. Class dates: 8/30-12/15. Class minimum 10.
Theatre with Oakland Theatre Project
All Levels Welcome - Theatre games, improvisation, scene study, and more! Learn from teaching artist Sharon Shao of the Oakland Theatre Project in this 1.75 hour afterschool class. No experience necessary, just an open mind and a willingness to have fun!
THEATRE: Mondays 3:45 - 5:30. Room: TBD Class Dates: 8/15 - 12/5. Fee: $250 per student. Class maximum 20.
Fall Sports Tryouts
Cheerleading, Girls Volleyball, Co-Ed Flag Football, Co-Ed Cross Country and Lacrosse
The Fall Sports season starts in September, dates will be released soon. Sign up HERE!
Thus far, tryouts will be held as follows:
Flag Football: Tuesday 8/16 and Friday 8/19
Cross Country: Monday 8/15 and Wednesday 8/17

Other Important Montera News and Information
Back to School Forms and Enrollment
Back to School Forms are required every year. Families can fill out back to school forms on-line in the Aeries Parent Portal, or they can fill out paper forms at school.

Please note that forms do not need to be filled out before the first day of school - your student will not lose their seat if the forms are not complete by August 8.

- Latex free band-aids (NOT with antibiotic medication in it) in assorted sizes. EVERY teacher needs at least one box and the front office and nurse's office also need a supply.
- Tweezers for splinters (not the plastic ones)
- Ice packs for PE and front office
- Vomit bucket for front office and pick up waiting area
Feminine supplies
- Cleansing wipes
- Assorted pads
- Tampons
- Assorted sizes back-up underwear (S/M/L/full-figured)
