Information Updates
What a great start to our school year Lincoln Landsharks!
This year we have started off super strong. Students are present and engaged in work. Many of our youngest students have been learning how to be "students" again; from walking down the hallway, to using their school tools. We appreciate your efforts in fostering every child's independence. If your child receives a homework assignment, please know this concept was covered in class. This is not new information. If your child struggles, simply write a note to the teacher and leave the work completed, whether it is correct or incorrect. This "teaches" the student responsibility and perseverance. It's ok if it's challenging. They can and will succeed!
Open House on Thursday September 30th, is from 4:00-6:00 pm. Please come, bring your children and enjoy. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our NEW Assistant Principal, Mrs. Meghan Branco. We are delighted she is joining us at the Lincoln. She brings a plethora of knowledge and skills to this role. I know she can't wait to meet you all. Her contact information can be found at the end of this newsletter as well.
At Open House we will be offering:
- FLU clinic
- Lowell Community Health Center
- Center for Hope and Healing
- Lowell Health Department
- Police Department
- Softball league information
- Mill City Grows
- and more......so PLEASE be sure to COME by! We HOPE to see you there!
We realize that transportation has been a national crisis, which is why the National Guard has been brought in to assist with the lack of drivers. Our transportation manager has been working diligently to fix the multitude of issues that have been brought forth. We do hear you and the issues. What is important to remember is that once the bus leaves the school, we are NOT provided with their ETA to the stops. So IF the bus hits traffic, has to re-route, has a sub driver that takes longer, we do NOT have this information at the school level. Understandably this is frustrating, and we will do our best to assist you by reaching out to the bus company. The school will do outreach to families, but ONLY when busses LEAVE the school LATER than a few minutes. We do not call when they are 5 minutes late leaving. We have included the transportation departments contact information in this correspondence as well for your direct connection.
Within this newsletter you will find:
- COVID Consent letter and links to sign up for Pooled testing, Symptomatic Testing, and Test and Stay. These tests are done IN SCHOOL. There is only ONE consent for permission. We are only allowed to test, if you have completed the form providing permission.
