Reminders
- Review and practice appropriate cafeteria and hallway behaviors with students.
- Please check the master calendar (my calendar) for upcoming dates. There are changes being made daily.
- Our district requires that you have 6 additional hours of off contract staff development - in addition to the initial requirement of having 12 off contract hours, on or before January 30, 2017 in order to be off on the Flex Day on February 20th.
- You should be gathering your T-TESS evidence. Please complete this by January 31, 2017. This will give you an idea of information/evidence you still may need to gather in order to justify your ratings. You can upload samples of what you want us to review (not each and every document) in Eduphoria - labeling them D1 (Domain 1), D2 (Domain 2), etc. If you would like to upload videos of yourself or your class, please upload them in Google. Team Leaders will be attending training on gathering T-TESS evidence for summatives.
- Teachers in grades 3, 4, 5 -- Saturdays are available for tutoring, beginning January 28, 2017. The pay is $25.00 an hour. Please let me know by email which Saturday(s) you can tutoring.
The Greater Houston Kinesthetic Classroom Collaborative
The second meeting for the Greater Houston Kinesthetic Classroom Collaborative will be on January 24, 9:00-11:00, in Alief ISD. Last year, educators across the greater Houston area collaborated to discuss the growth of the classroom initiatives in and around the city.
The kinesthetic classrooms have shown transformative improvements in students’ overall health and academic performance. This meeting will be highlighting implantation modules for secondary campuses. Kinesthetic classrooms are based upon research that uses neuroscience to support the link of movement to learning. These classrooms coordinate intentional movement to teach academics kinesthetically.
Spring Branch ISD and surrounding school districts are networking to study and share best practices in the areas of neuroscience and learning.
Suicide Prevention Training
Please remember to complete the Kognito training on the website (click below). You will receive one hour of noncontract credit for this training. A copy of your certificate should be sent to Mrs. Luberger, and also uploaded into Eduphoria.
You must complete the course by February 20, 2017.
