Hillsdale Elementary School, January 2020
New Year, New You?
January is often a time for reflection. How did 2019 go? What would we change for 2020? I am so thankful to be at Hillsdale for 2020 and beyond! The teachers, parents, and community have been so welcoming. My one word for this year is "patience" as I learn so many new things from you all and we all work toward making Hillsdale the best school in West Chester!
AIRPOD ALERT: Many students may have received airpods this holiday season - we have seen a rise in them at school. As always, we discourage students from bringing such expensive items to school. They are fully the student's responsibility, and we are concerned they may be lost - individually or the charging case. Please talk with your child about this responsibility if needed.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: We continue to support our school community and beyond this Winter season. Please see the attached flyer about collecting new hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks. The PTO is organizing a service event for Jan 17th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Please look for details in their newsletter.
As our temperatures continue to fluctuate, we do ask that your child dress in layers and be prepared for the changes. If a coat, hat, or glove does not make it home, please ask your child to check our lost and found. We are only two days back from break and it is starting to fill. We do scan these items regularly for a name so that helps get items back.
Winter also means potential weather related delays, closings, and/or early dismissals. Please make sure we have your most current email addresses and phone numbers on file. Make sure you are signed up for WCASD alerts. If you are not, please check out this website:
