Attention 4th Grade Families
Greetings from the Nurses. Recently there were letters sent home to some 4th grade students with information about physical exams. Unfortunately, there was a typographical error and we would like to clarify. If you received a letter, please see below for the corrected date. We apologize for any confusion. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Under Massachusetts General Law 105 CMR 200.00, Mansfield Public Schools require documentation of physical exams in grades Pre-K, K, 4, 7, and 10 (as well as each year for high school sports eligibility). We will accept physicals dated from 9/1/2021 and after.

HERE ARE SOME TEST TAKING TIPS FOR YOU AND
YOUR CHILD DURING MCAS TESTING
To Reduce Test Anxiety
Parents and families can do several things to create a positive test-taking experience and help students prepare for tests. “Test anxiety” is worrying too much about doing well on a test. It can keep students from doing their best. Some ways to help reduce anxiety are:
● Talk about the test in a positive way.
● Encourage best effort.
● Encourage your child to focus on his or her strengths, such as a good memory or strong analytical skills.
● Assure your child that the test is only one measure of academic performance.
● Assure your child that their teacher has provided them with excellent strategies to help them have a successful test experience. Remind your child to be confident and use these strategies.
● Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and has a good breakfast.
Remember—you are very important to your child’s success in school and in life. Your interest and support let your child know you believe in them and that you value education. We hope these suggestions help you help your child have a positive testing experience.
Harvest of the Month
The Jordan/Jackson food service assistants are collaborating with our Health teacher Ms. Memoli to celebrate harvest of the month in our cafeteria. Ms. Memoli will incorporate nutrition facts in her lesson plans on specific fruits and vegetables in Grade 5. Students have been creating posters highlighting facts, recipes, and pictures. These posters are hung around our cafeteria for all students to see. These fruits and vegetables will be featured in our menu throughout the month.
