Important Reminders Concerning Fair
The Dawes County Fair is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! Here are a few reminders to keep you on track and prepared for anything.
- Read the Dress Code section on page 19 of the fairbook.
- BOTTLE LAMB & BUCKET CALF exhibitors: Record books are due JULY 25 to the Extension Office, This allows time for the judges to review them before fair.
- HORSE SHOW exhibitors: You have a Pattern Book available to practice from on our 4-H Fair Website or we will print you a copy in the office. Take this great opportunity to get ready to ride!
- DOG & CAT exhibitors: Animals exhibited at the Dawes County Fair must have a vaccination form signed by a certified veterinarian on file before the animals can be shown. These were to be turned in by July 15. Please let us know if you missed this deadline and get those forms turned in IMMEDIATELY!
- Exhibitors who competed during FCS Pre-Fair Day on July 19 - remember to bring your exhibit(s), with tags, to Static Entry Day on Monday, July 31, between 9 am and 1 pm. We want to display your beautiful projects!
- Please read the rules thoroughly, either in the Fairbook or on our 4-H Fair Website, concerning the exhibits you plan to bring to the fair. There are many little rules about labels, descriptions, etc. that need to be followed. Thank you for taking responsibility for this.
- Animal Educational Displays should be brought to Static Entry Day on July 31, between 9 am and 1 pm, to ensure they are judged.
- If you exhibiting any animal - large or small - you will need your back tag number. We made 2 per member so it is best to pick them up early and laminate them. Then, they last through the ENTIRE Fair!
- ANYONE can exhibit in the Open Class at the Dawes County Fair! Check out the front section of the Fairbook and take something to be displayed. Open Class Entries are Friday, July 28, 8 am - 2 pm, Dixie Eaton Hall!
- Most importantly, bring a positive attitude and smile with you to fair. If we all work together, we can make this year's event the best one ever!
