Each morning we recite our Mill Hill Pledge right after the Pledge of Allegiance. However, sometimes some things lose their purpose and value when they become routine. So, every so often I remind our students about the meaning and value of the words within the Mill Hill Pledge. There is a promise to be kind in phrases such as: We pledge to do our best; our warm, welcoming hearts. We have seen merit to the claims that the pandemic has impacted the way that our children interact with one another. Not all behaviors are negative, with some being just a sense of enthusiasm that might need some gentle reminders to lower voices, or slow down at recess. Others, however, have fallen into the category of negative. Last Friday we held our first S.O.A.R. assembly in which we presented an understanding of Safety, Organized, Achievement, Respect. We also shared a new lunchtime initiative to improve lunch and cafeteria behavior. We will continue to foster prosocial behaviors as we support the growth of the whole child. Our Pledge is a great daily reminder of just that. Thank you for your support in this area.

Thank you for coming out for conferences over the last two weeks. We take great pride in establishing a strong school-home connection. This is a vital component of a successful educational program for our children. It is one of the main reasons that we were cited as a National PTA School of Excellence twice.

Thank you to all the volunteers and families who came out to the Book Fair throughout this past week. It seems to have been a successful event!
