Birthday Shout Outs
Does your child have a birthday during the school year? Did you know you can surprise them with a birthday shout out? For $5.00, your child's name will be read on the morning announcements along with a birthday song, pencil, and a card from the Principal! FOCUS Parent Portal
FOCUS is our new gradebook tool that took the place of Skyward. If you have not done so already, please set up your parent account as soon as possible. Parents will be able to see grades, see FAST test scores, and the communication with teachers piece will be available soon. Here's the link to set up or access your account:

Red Ribbon Week
We’re excited to announce the 2023 Red Ribbon Campaign Theme, "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free.™" This year’s theme is a reminder that everyday Americans across the country make significant daily contributions to their communities by being the best they can be because they live Drug-Free! Red Ribbon Week will be October 23-27. Look below for our daily themes throughout the week!
Here's what we're learning around campus!
Grade Level & Focus:
Kindergarten: Describing main characters, setting, and events in a story & Numbers to 10 and Sort, count, and compare objects
First Grade: Identify and explain the moral of a story & Subtraction within 20 facts and strategies
Second Grade: Compare and Contrast important details presented by two texts or stories & Strategies to add three-digit numbers
Third Grade: Explain how text features contribute to meaning and identify the text structures of chronology, comparison, and cause/effect in texts & Multiply and divide with procedural reliability
Fourth Grade: Explain how setting, events, conflict, and character development contribute to the plot in a literary text & Multiplication and Division strategies with multi-digit numbers
Fifth Grade: Explain the development of stated or implied theme(s) throughout a literary text & Divide multi-digit whole numbers and decimals

EHES has earned the GOLD STEAM SCHOOL AWARD!
At the September school board meeting, EHES was awarded the Gold STEAM Award! Some of the requirements to earn the gold award include participation in the Science Fair, 4 STEAM projects per year in every classroom, STEAM club and participation in the district STEAM Bowl, and a family STEAM night. Thank you to our Math and Science coach, Jacob Fuhrman, for your leadership and support in providing all students with an opportunity to engage in STEAM learning, and a big thank you to our teachers for your work in helping build a love for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics for our students!
Tiger of the Month
During the month of October, our trait is being a friend. Being a friend means you are supportive and encouraging, and treat others with kindness and respect.
SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY
Monday - Thursday
Tops: A solid knit polo style collared shirts in any color. No T-shirts are allowed Monday-Thursday. On club days, student club members can wear their club shirt.
Bottoms: Solid colored Shorts or long pants, skirts, skorts, or jumpers in black, navy, or khaki. Belts are preferred but optional. Leggings or stockings in solid black, blue or white only.
Fridays
Tops: School spirit shirt, polo, or solid colored T-shirt. Sports Jerseys can be worn on Friday if it is the students' team and not a professional sports team.
Bottoms: Jeans can be worn but must be fully intact without fashionable rips or tears.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday : 8:30-3:00
Wednesday: 8:30-2:00
