The Greendell Gosling Flyer-17th Ed

December 9, 2020

Dear Greendell Families,

I hope this finds you well. As our county has moved into the more restrictive Regional Stay at Home Order, families are continuing to do their part to ensure we all stay healthy and safe. I am so thankful to our families for following all of the safety protocols at school and in the community. The children are incredibly resilient in adapting to the changes but it is still difficult on families. Our Greendell School Site Council has been discussing how we prioritize the social emotional health of our children and the connectedness of families with our school community, given these challenging times. Taking care of our emotional well being is so important.

This week, families are being given the option of choosing a different learning model for their children. These changes will be based on space availability in our programs. If the learning model your child is currently in is working for your child and your family, there is no need to complete the form. If you feel your child needs a different model to access their education, please complete the form below. Again, it will be based on the space available for each model. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about this process.

Thanks so much,

Principal Shannon

In November, Dr. Austin wrote in his weekly update that principals would share the process for requesting a learning model change to begin in January. Please know that changes in learning models will be based on space availability and will be the final class placement for the 20-21 school year.

  • Parents will receive notification by 12/18/20, pending availability, of their child’s new placement.

Supporting Learning at Home: Educational Tech. Platforms and Tools

Understanding the multiple tools students use for distance learning can be challenging. The resources provided on the PAUSD website, Supporting Learning at Home on the Educational Technology: Platforms and Tools page, are intended to give parents and guardians an introduction to the most important learning tools in PAUSD including Infinite Campus, Schoology, Zoom, Clever, and Seesaw (PK-3rd grade). Every day students should begin school by logging on to Rapid Identity, PAUSD’s single sign-on portal, at Parents and guardians should also access all PAUSD tools and apps from as well. For technology questions or support please submit help tickets through Let’s Talk from the PAUSD website:

Reminder for Interested Families - Donations to EHP

For over 25 years, PreSchool Family and Young Fives have coordinated our efforts at Greendell School to give to families in need for the holidays. Through the Ecumenical Hunger Program (EHP), the Greendell School Community has collected and donated food and gifts to sponsored families in need. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are saddened to not be able to collect items for donation. One way we can continue to help is by connecting Greendell families to the EHP website, where individual families may make a donation.

For families interested in donating to EHP or learning more about their programs, please follow this link. Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfulness!
