October 14-15 - Homecoming at PHS.
Garter Bowl is tonight at 6 PM in the PHS Football Stadium. Homecoming Court will be announced tonight during the last game!
Homecoming Float Building will occur all day tomorrow with the 18 floats on display during half-time.
The Homecoming Dance is Saturday Night in the PHS Cafeteria, 7:30 - 10:30 PM. The king and queen will be announced during the dance!
October 14, Mock Election at Orefield Middle School, Three 8th grade Civics teachers at Orefield Middle School will conduct a mock election using six voting machines from the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office. Students will study the candidates and make campaign posters for the event.
October 18 - Post Prom Committee Meeting, PHS library, 7 PM. We need parents of students K-12 to keep this program alive for years to come. Please come to the meeting if you've always wanted to get involved and MAKE A DIFFERENCE to so many Parkland youngsters!
October 19, Parkland Parent Fall Workshop "Preparing for the College Admissions Process" Parkland High School Rooms C200 and C220, 7 PM.
October 21 - Football Game vs. Northampton (Senior Night), 7 PM.
Oct 25 - State Police Drug Awareness Academy Begins
The Pennsylvania State Police in cooperation with Lehigh Carbon Community College, Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, Lehigh County Probation, Lehigh County Coroner and Lehigh County Drug and Alcohol are offering a Drug Awareness Academy focusing on the Heroin Epidemic that is currently impacting our communities. This Academy is intended to have presenters from multiple facets to discuss a variety of topics but to also give community members an opportunity to ask questions. For more information, click here. The discussion on October 25th will include individuals in recovery and their family members who will tell stories about how they were introduced to the drug and negotiated their way away from it.
