Lunch and Learn Pilot
Dear CB South Community:
At the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, CB South will be piloting a new initiative called Lunch and Learn. Lunch and Learn is a 63-minute window of time in the middle of the day (10:33-11:36) that allows students autonomy over their own time, learning, and well-being. This unscheduled hour in the students’ school day provides time to eat lunch, meet with guidance counselors or teachers for extra help or enrichment, socialize, play in a pick-up basketball game, or work out in the weight room. Through these and other optional activities for them during Lunch and Learn, students will build and maintain positive relationships with peers and staff as well as foster their own academic and social-emotional needs and interests. Furthermore, faculty will collaborate during this time to plan and create engaging lessons and enrichment activities to ensure student success in and out of the classrooms at CB South.
We want to hear from you about what you would like to see incorporated into this Lunch and Learn block. Please consider complete the appropriate survey below.
Sincerely,
Jason H. Bucher
Principal

Wrestling
Over the break, the Wrestling team competed in the Trojan War Tournament at Chambersburg HS (December 28th and 29th) against some of the top teams from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Maryland. Freshman Gabe Whittington (113lb) took 2nd place in the JV division in his 1st action coming off a preseason injury. Senior Dom Stoughton went 2-2 to lead the Varsity squad.
After the New Year, the team wrestled locally at the Battle in the Rock Yard Duals hosted by Council Rock North High School. The team wrestled dual matches against District ranked #4 CR North (L 69-9) and #5 Owen J. Roberts (L 66-13) before earning their first dual meet win of the year over Methacton, 48-30.
The mid-January season grind began with a narrow loss to SOL rival Souderton, 38-37. Picking up key pins were Gabe Whittington (113lb), Dom Stoughton (138lb) and Jayson King (195lb).
The following week (January 15th) brought another accomplishment for this young team, which starts 8 freshman and 3 sophomores by earning their first SOL - Continental win by beating host Pennridge, 46-30. The team had not won a league dual since beating CB West 39-33 on January11th, 2017. The Titans picked up big wins from Dom Stoughton (145lbs) pin and Sophomore Nick Russo (120lb) major decision 11-3. The team win was sparked by two freshman victories; Brain Schmidt who got his 1st Varsity win (and pin) and Eddie McDonald who won his bout at 182lbs with come-from-behind headlock pin.
On Wednesday, January 22nd, the wrestling team achieved one of the program goals for this season, which is to field a full line-up of 14 wrestlers. The match on Wednesday against Lower Moreland was the 1st time since January 14, 2015 that CB South Wrestling has competed with a full lineup. Unfortunately, the LM Lions got the better of our team, handing CB South a defeat 30-46. Titans earning wins (all pins) included Gabe Whittington (113lbs), Dom Stoughton (138lbs), Sophomore Will McAulley (152lbs) & Freshman Nick Stoughton (160lbs).
