Druid Hills High School
Week at a Glance - October 17
PSAT - Wednesday, October 19
PSAT is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, October 19 (8:10-11:21). This will involve all 10th graders (students will be testing with their homerooms), plus some 9th and 11th graders. Testing will take place on the 500 hall and cafeteria - we will be restricting movement along that hallway.
While we will be on Regular Bell Schedule, there will not be a bell at the end of first and beginning of second.
Please do not release your second period classes until you hear the bell - we may need additional time to complete testing before releasing students (should be no more than 10 minutes). The bells will resume for the rest of the day.
Please view the updated proctor, location, and re-location announcements, if you have not done so already. All classroom teachers should have received a bright pink announcement with testing locations in your mailboxes this afternoon.

Student Re-location Assignments
Classroom Re-location Assignments
Please share this information with your students tomorrow, and then post in a location where they are likely to view it.
If we can get the students to their testing locations and started in a timely manner, we may be able to avoid lunch delays.
Please contact Mr. Alexander or Ms. Mills with any questions.
College Fair - Friday, October 21
We appreciate your help and support to make our college fair a great success for our students!
Druid Hills College Fair
October 21st
1:00-1:45 Seniors
2:00-2:45 Juniors
Teachers,
We need your help for a successful college fair. We appreciate your assistance in advance. Please print your 3rd and 4th period rosters prior to Friday, October 21st and make note of your juniors and seniors. We are counting on you to make sure the students are correctly placed.
If you are on planning during 3rd or 4th period, please consider supervising. The sign-up sheet for available shifts is on the door in the mail room. You will receive jeans passes for helping!
3rd Period Teachers:
An announcement will be made to dismiss all seniors at 1:00 to head to the gym. If you have a senior class, please escort your class to the gym and stay to supervise. If you have D lunch, we will provide your seniors with a pass that allows extra time at the fair after lunch. They should still attend D lunch first. **Please have the students take their items with them as they will not be returning to class.**
4th Period Teachers:
The seniors will be dismissed from the fair at 1:45. Please allow a few minutes for them to return to class.
We will make an announcement to dismiss all juniors at 2:00. If you have a junior class, please escort your class to the gym and stay to supervise. The students will be dismissed back to class at 2:45. **Please do NOT have the students take their items with them as they will be returning to class.**

Hands on Atlanta Youth Action Council
Hands on Atlanta has partnered with the District for the past several years on a variety of school improvement projects.
Hands On Atlanta's Youth Action Council is an organized group of teens ages 13-17 who serve alongside Hands On Atlanta staff to execute service opportunities for youth and families. Youth Action Council members will learn how to plan and execute their own service project for Global Youth Service Day 2017. As a Youth Action Council member teen will learn to...
- Research and identify needs, assets, and interests in your community and possible service projects needed.
- Work effectively with youth from unique perspectives and backgrounds.
- Budget, address an audience, and delegate responsibilities.
- Engage youth and your peers effectively.
- Partner with a thriving nonprofit organization focused on youth and service.
Youth will meet twice a month from November 2016-April 2017 at the Hands On Atlanta office and service opportunities will take place around metro Atlanta.
Please share with students who might be interested in community service. An application may be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SPMKYXD. Questions or requests for more information, contact Nichole Harris at Hands on Atlanta, NHarris@handsonatlanta.org, 678.612.8616.
