Monday Message
from Susan M. Hasenauer, Superintendent
Monday, April 19, 2021
Good Evening,
Today we had the pleasure to welcome our hybrid students back to four days of in-person learning at both the Middle and High School! I am happy to report everything went great! This would not have been possible if it weren't for our amazing staff. I personally would like to thank facilities, transportation and food service for quickly changing direction and ensuring our students had everything they needed to restart. Our administration, teachers and support staff were second to none when it came to scheduling and ensuring a warm, welcoming environment for our school community while simultaneously ensuring our district continues to adhere to the guidance put forth by the New York State Department of Health.
As we continue to move forward, we want to emphasize that the health and safety of our students is or main priority. Therefore, we are asking you to support us as we reinforce the importance of the following:
1. Social distancing
2. Wearing a face mask
3. Following traffic patterns
4. Cleaning protocols
As we move to next year, we are unsure what the guidance will look like. However, we do need to begin planning. As a region, we are examining the potential for a regional school
for students who have demonstrated success learning in a virtual model and parents who will want this option. A committee across the Wayne Finger Lakes Region has been formed and needs specific information from you. Please kindly complete the following survey if you are interested in a remote learning opportunity for your child in the upcoming year. Thank you!
As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to me at (315) 332-3205 or susan.hasenauer@newarkcsd.org.
Happy Monday ~ Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Sue Hasenauer
