Course Updates November 2014
Three Weeks Remaining!
Make sure you look over your grades daily and check for any errors. If you see a mistake, please send me an email or give me a call as soon as possible. Final grades will not be calculated until after the course closes on December 5th. Students, parents, and facilitators will have access to final grades in registration on December 12th.

Free Response Essays
Students may use either Piktochart, Smore, or Dipity to complete one or two of any of the Free Response Essay Questions (up to 10% each). This enrichment assignment is not available for missing assignments. You must
These bonus assignments must be submitted to the bonus dropbox before 11:59pm November 28, 2014.Test Corrections
For each module exam, students may prepare a test correction document to improve test scores. The test corrections must include a comprehensive and detailed reflection for each test question answered incorrectly on the module exam. For each question corrected, students may earn 1/4 of a point back on the test score. All remaining test corrections must be submitted to the Test Correction dropbox before 11:59pm December 1, 2014.
Inquiry Labs
Students may submit an explanation tool for up to two labs for bonus (up to 10% each). This enrichment opportunity is not available for missing assignments.
Do not submit a lab report! You must use the template provided in the news announcements.
Shmoop Bonus
Log into Shmoop and complete the provided review activities. For every 10 Shmoints earned, students can get 5% bonus points toward any exam. Make sure you are enrolled in our Shmoop AP Environmental Science 2014 so that I can review your results and give you credit. Bonus Shmoints must be earned before 11:59pm December 2, 2014.
Study Tips... How to study for the final exam
Use the Self Quizzes and Practice Tests available in your etext to help you review your strengths and weaknesses for each chapter. You should also look at the chapter questions and concept checks throughout the chapters to help you prepare for the free response questions.
Study resources, such as Shmoop and Quizlet, are available to you for fun review. And the best resource is each other! Use the discussion forum to share ideas, ask questions, and make arrangements to review the content together. If you would like to set up additional times throughout the week to work together and study, let me know! Our “classroom” is open 24-7!
Final Exams Begin December 3rd!
The final exam is timed and students should take prepare to take the complete exam in one session. The test consists of 45 multiple-choice questions and 2 free-response questions. For the short answer questions, 2-4 sentences should be appropriate.
The AP Environmental Science Exam consists of multiple choice, calculation, and free response questions. All sections include questions that assess your understanding of the big ideas, enduring understandings, essential knowledge, and your application of these through the science practices.
Section I: Multiple-Choice (1 hour 30 minutes)
This section consists of 100 multiple-choice questions that represent the knowledge and science practices that you should be able to demonstrate related to the advanced study of environmental science.
Section II: Free-Response (1 hour 30 minutes)
You should use the mandatory 10 minute reading period to read and review the questions and begin planning your responses. This section contains of 4 free-response questions and you will have a total of 80 minutes to complete all of the questions.
