Is it a Right or Responsibility: Considering What We Need to Feel Safe and Happy
Cooking in the Classroom
Apart from the clear math and literacy connections, cooking familiarizes children with a process. It brings the food they come in contact with to life. A croissant is no longer a croissant, it's something that is constructed. Food is the product of preparation and effort. What a wonderful thing for children to experience.

Using Messages in Purposeful Ways
In response to this, Clay decided to write a message and create a donation bucket during his exploration time on Friday. Should you have a dollar or two to spare, please feel free to contribute. We're hoping to collect enough to purchase a replacement portable record player as soon as possible.

Additional Announcements
Several children have been bringing gum to school. We are certainly fine with children chewing gum if it helps to provide needed feedback/stimulation or relief from the pain of wiggly teeth. We ask that you email us if you would like your child to chew gum at certain points throughout the day for the reasons presented above.
