President's Message
Hi Sisters,
Our family just got back from Orlando, FL! We went to Disney and then I attended the American School Counselor's annual conference.
Family vacations (although not particularly relaxing) are so important. It may be a week at Disney or a weekend camping at a local site. We need to make time to disconnect from the busy "hamster wheel" of life and connect with our family. Nurturing our own family can recharge us to help others.
As a career professional it is also important to nurture your professional identity. This can be professional development, spending time with others in your field and trying new things. My experience at the American School Counselor's annual conference was wonderful and it really helped to refill my "professional bucket".
This year I challenge you to attend at least one professional development event. I promise by making this effort you are certain to learn something new, set yourself apart, and will model to other educators the importance of professional development.
Happy 4th of July - God Bless America!
