Learn Effective Art therapy Community Outreach Post Crisis

Bridging the Trauma therapy Gap from Immediate Response to Clinical Practice

Art Connects Us, Inc. Director Dianne Vincent welcomes Nicole Porter Willcox, art therapist and Founding Director of the Emerald Sketch, to bring local Charleston art therapist's this opportune advanced practice.

The intention is to teach an understanding of how art therapy was brought to the survivors of the Sandy Hook School Tragedy and the Newtown community as a whole, as well as foster greater support for Charleston clinicians currently able to provide art therapy services. Practice of the outreach method will be facilitated, in addition to review of the Sandy Hook success rate. All Creative Arts therapist's attending will learn the most current method to communicate to the general public and most importantly those in need of mental health services 'How art therapy heals trauma'.
