The Spartan Scoop
Happenings, need-to-knows, & more from Campbell Counseling
Welcome to the August 2021 issue of the Spartan Scoop!
WELCOME!
How can my school counselor help me and how do I meet with them?
If a student is in crisis or experiencing an emergency situation, we do not require an appointment to be made. Please send your student to the counseling office and alert the staff that there is an emergency and they will be seen immediately.
How do I log into Naviance??
For Students:
VERY IMPORTANT---Googling "Naviance" and clicking on the Naviance website will NOT gain you access to your account. Please follow these specific steps:
- Go to CCSD or CHS Website
- In the upper right hand corner, click "Find it Fast"
- Click Naviance
- If you are on the school's network, it will automatically take you to your Naviance homepage.
- If you are not on the school's network, please enter your CTLS credentials to access your account.
For Parents/Guardians:
- Unlike the students, you CAN Google Naviance or go to this website.
- You will enter the email you have on file with CCSD/ParentVue
- Enter the password you created previously or reach out to your student's school counselor for a code for first time users.

SAT & ACT!
SAT & ACT Waivers: In the past Jrs & Srs who received Free or Reduced Lunch qualified for 2 SAT waivers, 2 ACT waivers and 4 college application fee waivers which allowed them to take the tests and apply to college for free. Since everyone has free lunch this year, there is a new process. This FORM must be signed by the enrolling adult to determine if a student qualifies for a waiver. After it is signed, please turn it in to the counseling office or email a picture of it to your counselor. All waiver codes will be sent to the student via messages in Naviance.
FYI!!!! All University System of Georgia Colleges & Universities are NOT waiving SAT & ACT requirements for admission for Fall 2022. However, other schools still may be waiving the requirement. Seniors will need to check with their college(s) of interest to see if a SAT/ACT score is required for admission.
(Virtual) College Visits are happening at CHS!
Here is what you need to know:
- Juniors & Seniors are eligible to attend these college visits
- College Visits are posted in Naviance
- Visits are added daily so it is important to look at the Naviance College Visit page often
- If you add colleges to your "Thinking About" or "Applying to" lists in Naviance, you will get a message about when that college is coming so add those colleges so you get those helpful reminders!
- Students sign up for the visits in Naviance by "Registering" on the College Visit page
- The day of the visit, the registered student will receive a pass to attend
- Students are required to check into the Counseling office before attending the virtual visit in the College & Career Center. Students are able to use their own device or check out an iPad
- Students are allowed to sign up for 5 college visits per year
- Students must sign up at least one day prior to the visit
- It is possible that you may be the only student attending that visit so you would get private one-on-one time with that college admission rep! (Be ready to WOW them!)
Check out these 12 helpful tips on how to make the most out of the virtual college visit.
Happy college visiting!!!!
