WELCOME!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! For those of you who are new to CHS and/or The Spartan Scoop, or need a friendly refresher, this monthly newsletter will contain information in the following areas, but not limited to: School Counseling programming and events, grade level specific info, student specific info, scholarships, college info, career info, military info, social emotional health info and more! It is important that both students and their parents/guardians browse the information in these newsletters.

Meet the Campbell HS Counseling Team!

How can my school counselor help me and how do I meet with them?

School Counselors assist students & families in the areas of academics, college & career readiness and social emotional health. Students are welcome to request an appointment either on the QR code above or on our website. We kindly ask that parents/guardians, please email us if you need an appointment or have a concern regarding your student.

If a student is in crisis or experiencing an emergency situation, we do not require an appointment to be made. Please send your student to the counseling office and alert the staff that there is an emergency and they will be seen immediately.

ParentVue...Did you know????

ParentVue is utilized widely in high school to communicate absences, grades and assignments. If you are not checking your student's progress in ParentVue, please start making a habit of it at least once a week.

Here are some things that the enrolling adult can do in PV:

-Change contact information like phone numbers, emails and addresses

-Add/Delete people who can pick up/check out your child from school

-See schedules for S1 & S2

-See live attendance & tardies in each class, each day

-See live grades as they are posted by the teachers

-View Report Cards

-Communicate with teachers about questions and/or concerns

-Make elections like F2F or Remote should situations like that ever arise again

-Athletic Registration

and more!

If you do not have access to ParentVue, please contact the front office staff.

Do you know the required graduation & promotion requirements that all students need? Click on the picture to learn more or refresh your memory.

SAT & ACT!

SAT & ACT is back in full effect! Check out the flyer for this school year's registration & test dates.

SAT & ACT Waivers: In the past Jrs & Srs who received Free or Reduced Lunch qualified for 2 SAT waivers, 2 ACT waivers and 4 college application fee waivers which allowed them to take the tests and apply to college for free. Since everyone has free lunch this year, there is a new process. This FORM must be signed by the enrolling adult to determine if a student qualifies for a waiver. After it is signed, please turn it in to the counseling office or email a picture of it to your counselor. All waiver codes will be sent to the student via messages in Naviance.

FYI!!!! All University System of Georgia Colleges & Universities are NOT waiving SAT & ACT requirements for admission for Fall 2022. However, other schools still may be waiving the requirement. Seniors will need to check with their college(s) of interest to see if a SAT/ACT score is required for admission.

(Virtual) College Visits are happening at CHS!

Did you know that at least 100 colleges come and meet with CHS students each year? These visits either happen at our annual College & Career fair in March or throughout the year with individual schools.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Juniors & Seniors are eligible to attend these college visits
  • College Visits are posted in Naviance
  • Visits are added daily so it is important to look at the Naviance College Visit page often
  • If you add colleges to your "Thinking About" or "Applying to" lists in Naviance, you will get a message about when that college is coming so add those colleges so you get those helpful reminders!
  • Students sign up for the visits in Naviance by "Registering" on the College Visit page
  • The day of the visit, the registered student will receive a pass to attend
  • Students are required to check into the Counseling office before attending the virtual visit in the College & Career Center. Students are able to use their own device or check out an iPad
  • Students are allowed to sign up for 5 college visits per year
  • Students must sign up at least one day prior to the visit
  • It is possible that you may be the only student attending that visit so you would get private one-on-one time with that college admission rep! (Be ready to WOW them!)

Check out these 12 helpful tips on how to make the most out of the virtual college visit.

Happy college visiting!!!!
