A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Last week at ACE one of our community partners, Home Depot in Summerwood, donated all of the materials to build 6 student gardens at ACE behind our beautiful library. But they didn't stop there! They sent a number of the employees from the store to actually construct the gardens on site! We are so grateful for their donation to us which included wood for the gardens, a weed mat for the bottom, and 150 bags of soil! For many years to come, students will be able to grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers in these spaces while learning the science of plants!
Students from the Summer Creek High School Ag department also came to help with construction. We really have some wonderful local partners who care about our kids.
Here are a few pictures from the event.

MODIFIED SCHEDULE THIS WEEK DUE TO MOCK STAAR
We will be operating a modified schedule on Tuesday March 8 and Wednesday March 9 due to a mock STAAR test we are administering to 3rd through 5th graders. If you plan to eat lunch with your 3rd through 5th grader on either of these days, please check the schedule as their lunch times have changed.
Thanks Watch D.O.G.S for responding!
Last month we challenged our Watch Dogs to serve between February and the end of the year. Already we have gotten a good response, especially on Fridays! If you haven't done so already, sign up to serve with one of our options which include half days, full days, or a 2 hour block of time. Your presence really makes a difference!
Sign up at https://watchdog-ace.youcanbook.me. You must clear a background check to serve. If you have not done so already, please reach out to Brandon Glaspie regarding more information about the Watch Dogs program.
DRESS CODE
Please check that your students are in school dress code each day before they leave for school. Ripped jeans or jeans with a hole in them are not allowed. Also, shirts should fully cover the midriff at all times. Students who are out of dress code may be sent home to change clothes.
COME VOLUNTEER AT THE ACE LIBRARY
Come volunteer at the ACE Library! We need help with shelving books and being a special friend to kids who visit the library. You must clear a background check to serve in the library. To sign up, please use the link below.
