Linking technology to the classroom...

You Should Know ...
- Wireless Changes
Over the next few weeks, we will be transitioning all district-owned devices to a new, more secure wireless network. Our current wireless network, CSDSecure, will be phased out, and replaced with CSDWiFi. All district-supplied Mac, Windows, and Chromebook laptops will be migrated automatically. If you have a district iPad or iPhone, it will need to be registered and then migrated manually. Please submit a helpdesk request and we'll be glad to assist you with this.
Please note: non-district devices will not be permitted on the new CSDWiFi network. Personal devices can be connected to the CSDGuest network. You will be prompted once a day to login to the network with your Cheltenham username and password.
- SMART Notebook 15.1
Every teacher desktop should have SMART Notebook v15.1 installed. Submit a trouble ticket if you don't. Our license allows staff to install this on their home computers. We've done multiple training sessions this fall on the new features, feel free to review our SMART Notebook v15.1 Training Session Notes to see what's new. If you receive an activation message when starting your Notebook software, just click next through all default options.

Moving Z: Drive to Google Drive...
To move files from the Z: drive to your Google Drive - Open Google drive using Chrome and drag and drop files from the Z: drive right into your Google Drive.Where's my Google Doc?...
To quickly find a file that was shared with you via Google Look in the 'Shared With Me' folder in your Google drive. To move a file to your 'drive' right click on the file and choose 'Add to my Drive'.
What are my student network IDs?...
A report has been created in Power Teacher that you can use to get a listing of your student network IDs. The report is named 'Student Username' and can be found under Reports (left hand side of screen). This information should be kept safe and secure, do not post anywhere. Student account information should only be shared with that specific student.

The GIST (Great Ideas that Start Things)
Special Ed teacher Krystin Baron was looking for a way to automate student progress monitoring using her iPad. Right away we thought of the app Notability. Pull your pdf into the app from your Google Drive and use Notability to highlight, circle words and make notes while your student reads the passage. When monitoring is done, upload the marked up document back into your Google Drive right from the app into a folder for that student.
