News from Ms. Hess
Mathematicians worked to explore adding and subtracting decimals using base 10 blocks to model the value of the decimals. Next, we will learn the standard algorithm for adding and subtracting decimals.
In literacy, we started our expository unit and began exploring the text features of nonfiction texts and textbooks.
Writers selected a writing sample to submit and take through the writing process by revising and editing. You may be hearing from your child next week by email requesting a photo for their memoir.
In Social Studies, we started to explore geography and did a scavenger hunt with our textbook. Next week, we will work with a partner to learn from two sources about a landform found in the United States and create a slideshow. We will then present our information to the class.
Our Second Step goal is to learn to respectfully disagree.
