Top 10 Study Skills for High School Students

Whether you're a student looking to get straight As or a student just trying to survive and pass all your classes. Developing your study skills can be crucial to achieving the results you want. To accomplish that goal, make sure to follow these tips:

  1. Manage your time wisely
  2. Ask questions
  3. Organize
  4. Make study groups
  5. Identify how you learn
  6. Hone those writing skills
  7. Catch some Zzz’s
  8. Eat healthy
  9. Attend class
  10. Have a spot where all studying takes place



  • Individual Senior meetings have been completed.
  • The Abby Sobrato Scholarship deadline has been extended to March 3rd.
  • If you were assigned to Cyber High, make sure to continue to work on completing all your units.
  • Community College Registration - Representatives from EVC, SJCC, De Anza, and Mission College will be at RCLA on March 12th helping students complete registration.
  • Remember to let Ms. Alanis know which universities you have been accepted to.

  • If you did not meet with Ms. Alanis to review your transcripts, make sure to see her as soon as possible.
  • SAT Registration - you must register for the SAT. last day to register for May is April 3rd. More SAT registration workshops coming up.

Sophomores & Freshmen

  • Ms. Alanis will be meeting with 9th and 10th graders to develop a 4 year plan and discuss course selection for the 2020-2021 school year.
