SEMS Sponsorship Banner Program
The Banner Program is officially up and going again this year. Thank you to all past and current sponsors, as your donations really help our student athletes in more ways than we can tell you.
This year we have two locations, again. The corner of San Elijo Road and Schoolhouse Way is the place that our community gets to see you donations at work. And the drop-off circle is the second, and where our parents get to see your business names up close and personal, on a daily basis.
Donations are $500 and are handled through the SEMS PTO website.

September is Suicide Prevention Month
September is Suicide Prevention Month. Become familiar with ways to recognize warning signs of suicide by visiting the Know the Signs website. If you are concerned about someone, ask them directly if they are thinking about suicide. This will create that safe space to address any thoughts they are already having. The Find the Words section of the Know the Signs website suggests ways to help prepare you to have the conversation.
The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is providing a virtual space for parents and community members to learn strategies to support their children with anxiety. Hope Squad: What is it?
We want to share exciting news regarding the implementation of Hope Squad at SEMS! Hope Squad is an evidence-based, peer-to-peer youth suicide prevention program, dedicated to spreading hope and creating a school culture that promotes connectedness and inclusivity. The Hope Squad is comprised of students selected for their kindness, approachability, and trustworthiness to help prevent mental health crises among their peers. Students are not REQUIRED to serve if selected by their peers and are not being asked to be counselors. Students will help with prevention awareness and learning who to contact if they are concerned about a peer.
Community Letters: English / Spanish
We will also be sharing a monthly mental health newsletter with families:
Tuesday, 9/19 - Pitch on SEMS TV
Thursday, 9/21 - Nomination form in Period 1
Friday, 9/29 - Notification to families
